Who here owns a Mini?

Just put a deposit down on a GP r53. Car has done 32k, getting the wheels refurbished and a few other bits to make it perfect before I collect it.

Will share some pics next week. I didn't have much with my previous r53 a few years back (as this thread shows!!) but hoping this should be more enjoyable!

In the flesh it's impressive how much more presence the GP has. It also feels pretty special even though the changes aren't huge.

Very impressive. I've always liked these and may get one in the future - it'll be interesting to see how it compares to the GP2.... I miss that car.

Anyway I'm sure you'll love it

Just in the process of changing the cam cover gasket on my one at the moment.

Had to get out the impact tools a couple of times :/ Just waiting for Amazon to deliver the gaskets now!

I get my f56 mini cooper S back tomorrow after a young lady tried to mount it with her for fiesta. Im looking forwarded to some heavy foot action, really bored of the loaner car.

Forgive the somewhat blurry shots. The light was poor and I wasn't taking much notice of my settings haha.

Car has only done 32k, just had the wheels refurbished. I need to do a couple of little jobs, rear discs, some minor bits and bobs.

Overall though its in very nice condition, and rides alarmingly well considering the size of the wheels. The handling is absolutely amazing considering its 'only' on stock 10 year old suspension. Im really surprised at how it likes to rev, even coming from my previous R53 JCW, the GP feels really lively in the top revs. I think it redlines around 7250, it feels like it wants to pull forever. Really impressive little car.

Lovely.

I've had my R53 just over a week now and driven it hard a couple of times. It just keeps giving and feels so tight and responsive. Need to get rid of the run flats though!

That thing will be an absolute hoot on the track.

I should think with 215bhp and 1190kg it'll be keeping up with 335i's in a straight line and leaving them behind in the corners.

A good set of tyres are next on my list once I've done the brakes. Unfortunately it's currently got Avons on the front and Michelin on the rear. I'm not a fan of mixed brands...

That Mini looks lovely, well done!

Is it purely a track toy, or are you going to live with it on a daily basis? And out of curiosity, what did it set you back? I may have another tab open right now with Minis for sale :D

I'm going to try Kumho KU39 once the Eagle F1s are done, get a 15% pulley on there ;)

Pulley is one of the few mods Im thinking of...but then I keep thinking wouldn't it handle nice on a set of KW's :D:roll eyes:

For the time being its a daily commute car haha, but its almost too nice for that so I am tempted to buy something for £500 to take me to work and back so I don't put loads of miles on the Mini. I paid top whack for it tbh. About £13k which is right at the top end of the market for one. I knew that but was prepared to pay it. Prices are all over the show really, if you can find one. Between 9k and 14k.

I absolutely love the GP, but I couldn't justify paying the money myself to use as a daily commuter I put too many miles on car and they are far to nice!

might just go a test drive one day to see how fun they are

Didn't realise this was/is a daily. Would never want to use a car like this on a daily basis. Id get bored really quickly.

I only used my GP during the odd weekend and days off. Because of this my appreciation for it never died.... Each to their own I guess.

It's no big deal to me. It's immensely more comfortable than the Abarth I had previously. The only reason I may get a second car is to keep the miles off it.
