Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I can see why its priced as is, but still a bit too much for me to spend on a 182. Even if it does look like the best example I have seen for sale and in the winning colour!

Get a 200 and give me a shot :p

I will never own a black car, simples.

How about this? :p

The colour is a desire factor yeh, as is the condition, the low mileage, the exhaust, the springs and the newer steering wheel. I emailed him about it and the airbag is still functional too.

He must be taking the £1200 paint job into account in the sale?

Nope! LY's do sell for a higher price but not THAT much higher. Honestly that's extationate. The only worthwhile mod is the Eibach Sportlines. Surely you would want to change the wheels as well? With regards to the Exhasut I have no idea how well made the 'prospeed' range are, can't say I've ever seen them recommended on cliosport. (I'm talking with complete ignorance here though)

Yes it looks immaculate, yes it's low milage and yes it's the colour he's after but £6,250 for a 7 year old 182? LOL. I paid £3,300 for mine, immaculate, the colour I was after (Arctic Blue) but 74k on the clock. I would never pay £3,000 more for the sake of 40,000 miles when it comes to 182's.

Honestly, I wouldn't be pleased if I paid £5,000 for it. Probably talking £4,300 - 500

No, the airbag light isn't on, so there is no error. Does not mean the airbag is functional. You will only know that by crashing it. You can make the airbag light go out with 2 resistors with no airbag attached.

This was the email I received back from him -

Hi Jon,

Thanks for your email.

When the conversion was carried out the airbag connector between the car and the new wheel fitted without requiring any modification.

No airbag dash warning lights were triggered and as also mentioned the cruise function was also unaffected and during the last year and 6,000 miles I've had no issues. When it was serviced by Renault they even commented about how good it was.

Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Gareth

Yes there are several threads about it, and how it 'works' Like has been said the only way to be sure is to crash the car!

It's an expensive mod though, as the airbag wheel isn't cheap. I believe it also rubs for a while.

The airbag warning light it triggered if there is the incorrect amount of resistance on the airbag connecting wires. This can be achieved by having anything connected that provides this level of resistance, the stock bag, another bag, some resistors, a longer length of wire, etc. The fact the light isn't on does not mean the airbag will work.

Nobody has yet triggered a 200 airbag in a 1*2 to see if it functions. There was even an idea of group buying an airbag on CS and forcing it to trigger somehow, but it never happened.

It does look damn good, the only other wheel I would consider putting in mine. But again, I don't see the problem with the standard one.

Plus the sabelt one looks crap unless your tracking, but then your going to have a harness and roll cage fitted so air bag isn't as big an issue. Infact, I may be right to think it is better disabled?

I've seen that LY in person and can confirm the condition is excellent, its utterly mint. Its a no expense car, and has had the best treatment. Gareth and amy are top people too :D

but but but but....thats to expensive, get it for 5500ish and its a good deal, its probably one of the best 182's in the UK atm
