Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Yup, the one i linked said hed accept £3k now.

Hmmm always strikes me as odd on piston heads when people dont give their name, might be worth a look but be very wary as tbh it seems too cheap imo.

Wow. What have you had to buy for the 172 thats tallied uo to £3k?

Ive spent a few ££ on my 182 this month.

Aircon Regas - £50
MOT - £35
Repleacement Shock - £55
MOT Retest - £15
Full Service inc Coolant & Gearbox oil change - £250

All routine costs imo so im not to upset. Car is still prooving 100% reliable and great fun to drive

^The other shock isnt very old as that had to be replaced and could only get hold of one at the time. Then i forgot about getting another one until mot fail. So their isnt much difference in them tbh

Oooh, let me know how it goes.

I'm on the website now with my finger over the button.. do I, or don't I? :/

Do it. Mid range pull improved drastically for me. The 7850rpm limiter occasionally comes in handy eg an overtake as second gear will now see 70mph, 3rd will pull to 100mph. The idle on the car is now a lot better.

I fail to see a downside tbh.

Anyone going to Renault world series today at silverstone?

Think im going to sell my 182 soon.

Ive owned the Clio for approx 20months now, and had a 1.2 clio (same shape as my 182) for 18months before that so whilst the 182 is an all round excellent car i cant help but its soon time to move on.

Im really taken by the idea of a BMW 330 Coupe at the min. Marginally quicker than the 182 but im not overly bothered about that i fancy the BMW's rear wheel drive and 50/50 weight distribution coupled with german build quality and luxury.

Skeeter - As you have a monster commute id suggest you sway towards the FF version mainly due to the fact that you gain ABS (never know when you might need it) but more importantly aircon which im sure when summer comes you would regret not having if you have a good commute :)

Little update on my 182 - I sold it back in December and now drive a Focus ST3. Its a very different car but in many ways a grown up (and thirstier 182). Sold the 182 to a mate though so still get to see it but not sure it will be kept in as good condition as when i had it

£4k should get you a mint mk2 ph2 172. Prob around 03 reg.

You need to make sure its had a recent cambelt/aux belt change (with proof from a recognised specialist ideally) as otherwise its a £500 job....either that or haggle the money off to get it done yourself.

When turning slowly on full lock you will more than likely hear a knocking noise. This is common on all 172's and is nothing to worry about.

Just look for a tidy one in good conditon, there is a lot of battered and abused examples out there that have been thrashed like hell and not properly maintained.
