Who here owns a Renaultsport?

That's actually my video, and i'm pretty sure that it's the plastic scuttle panel between the bonnet and the windscreen, though i've also been told it can be the windscreen seals at the top. I taped everything down to test and it seemed like it was the Scuttle panel

AC is probably a regas, which i've read should be done every couple of years. My AC is currently as your describing too, but i've not got round to getting it done yet, so will be interested to here if this is most likely to be the car.

As for rear disc, i got genuine disc and pads, with bearing and abs rings from renaultcarparts_uk on Ebay (Renault main dealer in Wolverhampton) for about £100 delivered, I believe some of the traders on Cliosport do simliar dealer (BTM, G172, etc)

182 rear discs, pads, abs ring and bearings, currently £99 from Renault Wolverhampton.
Check that the black clips are in properly at each end of the scuttle panel.

With regards to the whistle at around 75mph quite a few people have mentioned that this has gone after a windscreen replacement, so it may have something to do with seals.

The whistle comes from the rain sensor which attaches to the windscreen, obviously this is removed and resealed when the windscreen is changed :)

I'm already thinking about what car I will get when I inevitably return to the UK. I can't help but think I'd do pretty well just spending £3k on a decent 182 again, as much as I'd like something else, anything else I would want would be pushing £10k, and I don't know if I'd be able to afford that!

I could just get a loan and get a Clio V6 :p

Well in true sods law style I have a few bits to sort out before going on holiday this weekend.
Car needs two new front tyres, the handbrake snapped Yesterday at the gym though it still engages at the top, so I think it is just one of the cables.
This morning my screenwash ran out too, and I had to renew car tax the other day. So a nice month for car jobs.
I have it booked in for the tyres tomorrow, does anyone know the best place to order two new hand brake cables? Also if they are difficult to fit on a 182? Read it should be a simple job?
:)
Also what oil does everyone put in, I was thinking of picking up some decent stuff for a oil change soon.

Any one here with a 182 ever had a screeching sound when turning to full lock at slow speeds or stationary?

Is that likely to be an auxiliary belt issue, or power steering pump?

Well after having the 200 over 3 years I finally decided to run it and see what power its making. Its totally standard so I'm very happy with the result seen as most standard 200's seem to make around 185/186 on Rstuning rollers.

Think that will be the power steering pump tbh matey. They get really loud when they are completely knackered

My mate constantly buys and sells Clio 172/182 sport models. 180 odd quid for a single lightbulb failure because you have to change the whole unit. Things like that grind my gears so put me off getting one off him.

Eh? Ballast for the xenon is around £50 each side from a breaker, then the bulbs are about £15 for two. Other bulbs are just like any other run of the mill Clio.

Had my insurance renewal through from Admiral. They want over a grand (costs me £990 last year but now have a non-fault claim).

Tried Adrian Flux, they want £690 with the exhaust declared. So happy enough with that (22, 1NCB and a non fault claim in Jan 2013).

Just booked my car in to Benfield Renault Gateshead for the cam belt and dephaser, works out at £449 and I get a courtesy car for the day, seems a good price, almost too good to be true!

Any reasons I should be concerned?

It includes the dephaser, I asked twice to make sure! I haven't confirmed it includes an aux belt yet but I had the aux tensioner done about a year ago so a belt can't be more than £20 extra surely since it has to come off anyway?
