Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Little update on the screeching noise I was getting on full lock or stationary steering (some of you suggested reasons for).

Had the aux service done today, and it's gone. Apparently the PAS pump is fine. :)

Enjoyable driving returns. Thanks!

oh dear

now my car is revving at over 2K ALL the time now

cleaned out the throttle body, no difference

took it to garage and put it on the Diagnostic machine, said its a Throttle position sensor
which is the same problem I hade 16 months ago, which I changed buy buying a brand new one
he cleared the fault, but problem still exists

wondering if its the Idle Control Valve, but I cant locate it

The garage near my house wants £72 and the one near my work wants £68 just to run diagnostics on my Clio. They say they charge an hours work as they aim to find and then fix the fault in that time. As I'm pretty certain I will need to order parts I don't want their hours labour, I want the 5 minutes it would take them to plug a laptop in.

Does anyone know anywhere cheaper in Surrey? Or does anyone have the equipment and fancy doing it themselves for a more reasonable price?

Or is there an eBay tool that will do it for me that isn't £1000 worth of Renault Clip?

hopefully all fixed now

found out my car doesn't have an ICV :/

only changed it 16 months ago :/

What are the symptoms skeeter?

ABS and SERV light come on randomly (which disables ABS). If you stop and turn the engine off and then turn it on and drive off it clears within a few meters.

It can go weeks without coming on, or it can do it every trip for a few days. Sometimes it comes on almost instantly, other times I've driven for an hour before it comes on.

It looks like its either the Brake Light Sensor, and testing it last night there is a couple of cm of pedal travel before the lights come on, or its an ABS sensor on one of the wheels.

The former is a self fix or a cheap part, the latter is eye wateringly expensive parts and requires diagnostics to find the problem sensor.

Probs need to do the brake pedal reset. I've had to do it before and it sorted it, the other solution is something to do with a sensor under the driver's seat I believe?

I have an ESP light, but I don't have ESP. Will the light still illuminate for anything? Or does my dash just have the place for it but its not connected to anything?

Earlier this year my ABS/Serv/ESP lights came on. I went to TwoTechs Dartford knowing that is was going to be an ABS sensor. Just so happened to be the offside rear sensor which seems to the sensor with the longest darn cable run.

That was £140 sourced from Wests on CS. I have no idea if aftermarket sensors are just as good as I could not find a recommendation for any on CS so I just played it safe with a Renault part.

It was intermittent to start with then just stayed on all the time!

I've taken my recaro pole position seats out and put the originals back into my Megane 250. Where would be a good place to sell them? I've tried Gumtree and the Renault forum but I've only had a few people interested and they expect me to let them go for 50p or something.

Send an email my way :)
