Nowt wrong with my 2005 EJ255, still going strong with 330bhp, just passed its MOT with flying colours and a clean bill of health from the specialist. Maybe its because its an import, but I think anything pre 2007 was ok up to about 400bhp if it was a 2.5 and well maintained.

Think most of the dead ones were just not looked after properly.
 
Most of the cars at subaru garage that need rebuilding are hatches or hawkeye. See a few blob eyes need head gaskets every now and then but thats probably because they are older.

Brembo rear calipers... Removing the 2 hex bolts and sliding pins should be enough for them to be removed from the car or am I missing something? Mine don't want to budge.

First time I've touched the rear brakes on either of my Imprezas so learning as I go.

well that will make it the fastest subaru on the planet for a good few hours :p I have looked on torquegt before and they get some really really nice cars. You certainly pay for it though.
