Since the arrival of mini me a few weeks ago I’m drawn to a Forester STi.

Current car is an RS3 which is great, but not much boot space and am trying to keep it ‘nice’.

Forester looks like it would be a great utility car with plenty of room, but seems a bit silly thinking of getting one given how the RS also is a do everything car, just with a little less room ;)

Hmm with Torque GT only down the road from me may have to pop and pay them a visit sometime to have a nose around one!

Legacy here, documents sent away.

Looks good, usual list to do, service, tyres etc

Exhaust needs replacing which wasn't the worst news really. The report stated underside surface rust, so the good news is it's only the exhaust.

Cyl 3 still runs the hottest cylinder temps or EGT. Thoughts around cyl 4 are due to the shape of the exhaust ports and how the gases can cause additional heating to the head as they flow out to the manifold.

I don't know too much about it tbh, a mate of mine asked me whether it was worthwhile doing while he had his engine apart.

These videos pretty much sum it up though;

It's pretty simple, there's already a bung on the block that can be used. You just fit an M20x1.5 adapter and T into the heater matrix return hose, although from what I've read, you don't want to go too big on the hose bore that you disturb the rest of the coolant flow.

Added Whiteline adjustable rear camber arms last week along with Whiteline camber/caster top mounts. Quite a lot more camber and caster going on now, makes the wheels look skinny. Wider wheels and tyres are on the to do list. Also detango'd the front and rear, plus gave it a good clean. I do love this paint (bar the fact that it's so thin of course!) :)

That looks legit. I’ve always wanted one of these.

it for sure gets under your skin, I never had a car over 4 years but this car just delivers and in the wet its in a league of its own - this is remapped (and a full cat back SS exhaust) and its pretty nippy and sounds great, i came across this clip which is an older engine but you get the idea...the newer engines have tweaks to AVCS/AVLS timing at 2k rpm and again @ 4k rpm so it would be probably be more responsive than the one here.

Spotted @Meridian! M65 about 2 hours ago.

First saw you at Sainsburys and was going to wave when I went past on the motorway but I was in the ZT and you probably wouldn't have recognised me.

Car still looking and sounding awesome, how many miles has it done now?

Grey/silver ZT?

130k. It's in for a service next month. It has split a rad hose and burst the radiator (separately) but otherwise is working well. Making some odd belt noises though, and the sychromesh is getting twitchy.

Yep, grey 03 plate.

For some reason I thought it'd done more than that. Mine's done 95k and it never moves :D I remember you telling me about the rad hose the last time we met up, it's not gone again has it? I knew of an 05 STi with over 185k on the clock, so there's plenty of life left in yours I'm sure!

Do you work over that way then?
