Looking clean!
STI wagon i went to see was great, but can't see me test driving it for a while so had to shelve the idea. Hopefully its still available when things start to open up a bit more!
V5 arrived today for the Forester Cross Sport after posting the import pack away about 2 weeks ago, must be the fastest Ive ever had from the DVLA.
Strangely, the V5 has arrived first, normally I get a letter and my documents back first and the V5 arrives a week or two later, who knows.
I've fitted a cat back Hayward & Scott exhaust and it'll need a good clean, but once a set of plates arrive next week (import size, bank hol weekend etc) then i should have it home next weekend
Sounds a bit better but we'll see on a road test. OCD needs the tip angle moving, hah
Managed to sort a load of things on the Cross Sport. I love it, its much better than I expected for a cheap import. Quicker than I thought it would be. Needed a good load of little things done, wiper arms etc. Heated seats dont work, couldnt find the fuse for it although found the diagram for it in the fuse box, just not the fuse itself, derp!
Anyway, for a cheap run around I'm well impressed with it. Tempted to punt the Legacy 2.5GT and get another of these.
Any legacy gt owners in here? After considering many other large estates i'm getting back to thinking a legacy might be what i want! Good to hear thoughts and whatnot.
After 6 months of waiting, I finally got my RA back. All nice a sparkly underneath.
Having had these seats for almost a year, it was time to fit them together with a feux suede retrim. I originally bought Recaro SPG but they were far too narrow. I had these SR5s retrimmed and they do look pretty cool. Not as comfy as OE and not as comfy as the Evo seats which are the same base but Trendline backrest. I use a Sabelt Taurus in my sim rig which I can easily spend a few hours in and IMO better quality than the SPGs. I'd love to fit a pair of them but getting in and out would be a pain.
I'm waiting for a centre console to come back from being flocked which will then be fitted with the gear stick surround.
One minor issue was removing the OE steering wheel. The air bag squib, ring sensor thingy just sort of flew apart with the wheel and the ribbon cable unravelled. This ring sensor also does the steering wheel positioning for the DCCD. I haven't removed the position sensor so the DCCD still seems to operate - removal of the ring results in the diff defaulting to "open" apparently. I'm going to have to bodge the broken one to get the position sensor working and wires to horn and airbag. Getting a new or second hand one come MOT time seems a bit of an issue as there are various types. Fairly sure I've found one on ebay though.
