I've found that my new STi has some quite interesting differences as I've been taking it apart.
Firstly, the heatshields. The heatshield on the turbo/downpipe is secured everywhere and took me ages to find all the bolts holding it on. But once it was off I found I had to take another heatshield off under the downpipe to get to all the bolts. Never seen the lower on any other model I've worked on. Maybe they got left off due to how annoying they are
Secondly, a pipe attached under the intercooler for vacuum to the clutch. Again, never seen it before. I was quite nervous undoing it!
I've discovered these things whilst preparing to fit my new up pipe and ported manifold with GrimmSpeed crossover pipe.
Custom turbo back exhaust is getting done beginning of next week too. Cannot wait for the burble to return!
Yes it may have been running a cheeky bit of meth. Tuned on the road though, RaceDynamix said it would have made more of dyno tuned. Then went on to do 406bhp with the VF43... it was a bit quick !
