No more feedback than that?

First impressions were that it was still missing the big wing, but the met dark grey paint looks excellent in person, but not so much so in pictures or brochures.

The Recaro seats were excellent, comfortable and supportive. The driving position was good, helped by the steering wheel's height and reach adjustment. The dash layout seemed a little 'busy' to me with the readouts for the diff selection and neon red/pink tacho needle illumination.

Overall the interior was quite pleasent, a far cry from scoobs of old. Still plastic and typically Japanese, but better than my old Evo8. Stereo was rubbish, but I wasn't there to listen to the radio - the nice scooby burble was back and gave a nice meaty soundtrack to accompany the ride.

With the SI DRIVE in Sport Sharp mode, initial performance was brisk, good grip and confident handling. Steering a little light, but feedback was good. Midrange was ok, but the perhaps I would have liked to feel more oomph. I imagine the 340bhp upgrade would see to that.

In summary I was nicely surprised. Seemed a nice, involving, solid car. The low speed ride was a little too hard for me for everyday driving, but I suspect I have become too accustomed to wafting about in an M fünf.

I love the GB270. Great WRX with good mods above too! Thanks for sharing.

Naefart, I agree mostly. It needs a bit more power to liven it up that's for sure.

I've just been out in mine. Poor Scooby, I don't drive her for weeks then I take her out in the rain, get her sideways, and so angry she spits flames. Ah well :D

Where to start :D

My first one, purchased in April 2000, EU imported Turbo.

Started off standard, ended up with 17 inch PD7 wheels, PPP, brembo brakes with 308mm AP discs, Defi's and quite a bit of security!
No idea where it is now, reg doesnt show so could be on a private plate.

My second new one, wasnt many of these in the country at the time, one of about 3 at that time.

A 2003 STI Spec C limited, mechanically sound, needs a little bit of paint correction/paint to be perfect :D

The standard twin exhaust was terrible and didn't give the grunty noise of most Impreza's so I replaced the full exhaust with a brand new Wolfrace 3" decat exhaust onto my car.

Are you not supposed to remap when a 3" system is fitted? could be wrong but that may cause issues?

94 wrx 307hp 328fl/lb or torque.

Pulls like a train.

Off the road atm as the teins have rotted out, and i have other priorities.

My mate ended up with with an STI :o

He let me have a go of it today, really impressed with it, pulls really well, gearbox and clutch took a short while to get used to

Anyone seeling any 50/50 tail lights for an 03/05 model?

Yup thats how she started out in life ;)

Had no idea! It's the lightest model isn't it? Manual windows and all that :D

Twin pipes are only on the WRX? Generally most WRXs are ok with a decat exhaust an no remap (although it is recommended to remap of course.) The STi however is more sensitive to exhaust mods and overboosts so you will definitely need a remap really...
