Who here owns a Subaru?

You can see the inner barrels of both sides simultaneously in a few situations. I'm not entirely sold on the idea. I wouldn't listen to me though, my car has 2 different styles of wheel front and rear lol.
 
Thinking Id like to scratch my first turbo itch with a scooby or Evo. I'm not sure the exclusivity of an Evo is worth the extra money though. I believe what Im after is a hawkeye with PPP. Ideally in White or the 'boring blue'. Just having a hard time working out dates and models, pretty sure it's a UK 2.5l STI. A bit lost to be honest.
Gurdas and scoobydoo69 have the shape I want.

2.5s are riddled with issues. Head gaskets, piston rings etc. Only buy if they have been rebuilt and mapped by a specialist.

Or buy a JDM hawkeye, or a 2005 ish UK STi (blobeye)
 
JDM being the one with the twin scroll turbo? I can't seem to find many and I hate the look of the blob eye. Can you simply change the headlights?
 
Blobeye is what I have. :)

Yeah JDM has twin scroll, they make for a much better drive, but lack the burble. Instead they have a scream as they approach 8krpm :D

Ah I got blob eye confused with bug eye! Yes blob eye and hawk are the ones I like. Will have a look on pistonheads later. Doesn't seem many on there though from when I last looked.

Wouldn't be looking at heavy modding at all. I like a fair amount of noise so prob pipe and filter and remap. Pretty much as far as I go with any car. Not a big fan of the bov noise but I heard a screamer pipe scooby once and that was awesome. Also see anti lag thrown around a lot but don't know much about it.

All I see are Type UK on pistonheads.

Basically make sure its the newest 2.0 STi you can :p

JDM is better in pretty much every way apart from the loss of burble from exhaust but they do come at a fair premium.

The one i have seems to be the most sought after, the facelift Blobeye which a lot refer to as the 'widetrack' as it got the wider rear suspension from the JDM spec C and also the nicer interior from the later Hawkeye but still with the reliable 2.0 engine. Not as many of them around but worth looking out for.

As for antilag, you don't want it as it destroys your turbo :p all it does it burn fuel in your exhaust manifold and turbo which keeps it spinning to keep it on boost even when off throttle. Its hellishly hard on the turbo and exhaust valves so seriously not something anyone should think of running on a standard engine.
 
Ok so a type UK Sti can be the 2.0l which is good. I want to avoid 2.5l Type UK. Noted on anti lag, the hunt will now begin but I'm not rushing in.

Thats all i have remap K&N panel filter with a full 3" decatted Cobra exhaust.

serves me well.





 
PPP versions are supposed to have 301bhp/299lb torque, however i dont think they have that BHP IMO after the PPPconversion, more like 280ish IMO

Mine had the PPP conversion when i bought it, but since having the O/S remap the car feels so much better.
 
Very good low mileage for the year that one. Plus its had a ECUTEK conversion.

When i purchased mine from HURST, mine had (still has) FSH and had only 37k on the clock.

Ive just completed 44k now with mine.
