They are just not reliable and have no top end. It's all low and mid range power, then it goes all asthmatic past 5500rpm.

I think they're excellent cars, and a different choice to the normal options. I think the majority of the reviews agree too!
They are no where near as reliable as the 2.0.
They NEED bigger head studs to prevent head gasket failure, the block liners are so much thinner than the 2.0 blocks making them flex a lot more, so if going big power they normally need replacement liners. They have chocolate pistons and ring lands.
The only time a 2.5 block from an STi is reliable is when it has been rebuilt with decent pistons, larger head studs, thicket head gaskets and a good tune.

The Blitz by miles, why? The Cobra track day is as the name suggests for the track so its quite quiet.
You're right that video is hard to tell. It's probably because he camera can't quite handle the noise of the Blitz. The Cobra is a very clean sound, but it is very quiet. Watch my ScoobyShoutOut videos and you'll see, you can barely hear the Cobra.

My Cobra is a completely different system to yours though. Mine has 2 large silencers in the centre section and a very quiet backbox.
Yokohama AD08s are meant to be great. I'm thinking of them next.
You could probably pick up a semi decent bug or blob WRX wagon for that. Cheap enough to get them past standard STi power too Exhaust + remap sees them around 280bhp.

All UK cars should be undersealed and so shouldn't be too problematic? You're right though, just have a look underneath, under carpets etc to find out any issues.
