Problem is that you get people being very nostalgic about older era players. The reality is, how many people actually remember Napoli games?

I've seen a dozen or so Maradona games and would rather have Messi in my team all day long.

Of course I'll be someone who doesn't have a clue for suggesting a modern player could be better than a good player from an older era.

For some reason people note Messi not winning the world cup. What has that got to do with anything really? Any of the German players currently a historic great? Klose? Messi will win the most Balon D'ors of all time with strong competition.

When someone says "its what he is capable of with the ball at his feet. I have never seen anything of Maradona that comes close to what Messi is capable of." You have not watched football or have a clue about the game. You can discuss the worlds besr and etc but when its regarding what a player is capable with the ball no one has done what maradonna has.

Tricky one, Maradona's ability to run with the ball is world class even by today's standards and probably has the edge on Messi, but I'd hazard Messi has the edge when it comes to actually manipulating the ball.
