Who Needs WOW :)

WoW is worth the sub to some people, and not worth it to others, end of. Let's not have this thread continue with the endless WoW arguments, they've been done for the past god knows how many years and still keep happening, so obviously they are never going to end.

Opinions can't be changed by words my dudes.

I never intended it to be a WOW argument. It was just my personal opinion of the state of my world. I thought I'd share.

WOW is a great game, its my go to game, its always there. My point is, I dont feel i need to right now because of some other excellent games. That, for me has not happened in a long time.

don't see why people say that, took months to level, no progress in raids, there was no battlegrounds, it sucked.

I think once BC came it was a little bit better. But servers seemed a lot more populated. It felt like you were actually getting rewarded for the time and effort you put into the game.

I'm the exact opposite.

There are no games at the moment which keep my interest. F1 2012 is dull, Borderlands 1 annoyed me so I haven't bothered with 2, haven't touched CS:GO and I completed Sleeping Dogs and haven't played since. None of the games mentioned in the OP take my fancy. I even re-installed Black and White 2 a couple of weeks ago but that got boring after a couple of hours.

So I got a free 10 day re-sub of WoW and bought MoP (haven't played WoW since last December) and I'll see what it's like before deciding to re-sub for a month. Have the new slim PS3 and Fifa 13 coming on Friday anyway so it's not likely.

And I know a few other people in your situation right now as well. That's where I was for the first half of the year. I guess its very cyclical.

WoW is not unlike Heroine, being caught with possession of game time can land you in jail for a 10 year sentence and all the way up to life, should you intend to distribute. It's crazy we can even discuss it without raising Mi5 alarm bells... wait...

Who needs WoW? I sure don't - I played WoW at a friend's house once and to be honest, it was the most boring thing I've ever played in my life!

I think most people found TBC to be the best era of WoW, from there it took a nose dive unfortunately! :)

Share this opinion, Vanilla was good in it's own ways and had some advantages over TBC but I think TBC was pretty much as near to perfect as WoW got.

I kind of feel the same way OP. I played WoW in the past but I was never into raiding, and PvP becomes stale quite quickly. I have no intentions of going back to that game, despite the fact I think it's one of the best MMORPG's out there for its type.

I bought Diablo 3 and Guild Wars 2 thinking they would be my saviours, but unfortunately not. While both are good games, they both suffer from end game annoyances.

But then, I opened up my email, and was greeted with "You are invited to the Planetside 2 beta!" I've played around 6 hours or so and I am loving it. I've been waiting for this type of game for so long. BF3 is good, but it was never a replacement to BF2 and would never give me those epic moments again that BF2 did. I can't wait for the full release of Planetside 2 now!

I still need to pick up Borderlands 2 and Torchlight 2 though, but in no rush.

mind pointing out some reasons?

Epic open world PvP
BRD
LBRS/UBRS
BWL
Well designed dungeons/instances
The best quest chain in the game (Ony key quest)
A company that still cared about its gamers and not $$
Decent AV
No resilience on gear
No Arena
No LFG
No LFR
No flying mounts
The game still catered to a semi literate gamer that wasn't a drooling idiot.

I can go on if you want..

orly? most of the people i know who played it have quit already, kungen who was the #1 streamer on GW2 has quit for WoW.
Strange I know people that were stoked and really looking forward to mists, haven't logged in at all as they've been too busy in GW2..horses for courses eh

Kungen & steaming means nothing to me, just proves he has gone to where his bread is buttered more than anything.

This pretty much.

Most recent game I've enjoyed was dark souls I'm about half way through and cba to complete it just no motivation, far to easy to **** out on wow and get more enjoyment.

And even though wow has a sub its saved me loads of money cause I would probably be buying games that never get completed.

I very much enjoyed WoW, and stopped because I was wasting too much time on it. I then re-bought it (plus two expansions) for my wife who thoroughly enjoyed and played up until she had our baby.

I found it very fun, very easy to get into, and annoyingly addictive.

I just won't have enough free time to play these sort of games with family commitments. (Although I'm currently enjoying PS2 when I actually get with a decent squad, and regulary play BF3 :-) )

Kungen will 'quit' WoW when content is cleared also, so hardly a surprise
