Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Knocking from the rear is likely to be subframe bushes or anti-roll bar drop-links, too. And if it's a prefacelift (not that you should really be buying one when 53 plate onward ones are so cheap now) then check for rusty door bottoms.

Don't break the car for parts Monkeyman, that's a daft idea if it's in otherwise good condition apart from a few cosmetic bits, shame on you for suggesting it Makhaira! Imagine how much ballache it'll be too.

It sounds like it's in good fettle other than a few cosmetic bits so maybe sort those out and then put it up for "top money" if you're not in a massive hurry to sell? Sounds like a lovely colour combo with a desirable spec and the number of honest good condition cars available to buy is slowly dwindling, I'm sure.

Hmm, will bear that in mind if I start receiving similar symptoms! I had the same thing happen with a heat shield on my MX5 so I just bent it back with a big screwdriver :p

There's always been lots of "room" around my exhaust even if I wobble it and it shows lots of play on the mounts, so I'm sure the new one is designed well enough not to knock against the car :)

Did you use the existing rubber mounts? Mine look fine.

From what I've read, you shouldn't need to seal a well-made exhaust system if it's tight enough and not cheap and nasty.

I'm basically going to work backwards anyway, fitting the mid pipes etc first. It's nice that it's sectional, and not one great big lump like the OEM system. If I have any grief getting it off I'm going to take the grinder to it.

Just ordered some new hangers from Ford and will pick them up tomorrow. Seemed like the best idea, I can now destroy anything I need to in order to get the old one off easily ;) And it should all go together nicely. :)

Nope no time really :( If it was a couple of months ago and didn't get dark til 10pm I'd have cracked on this evening. I can wait. I think. ;)

One question for you: Did your Miltek come with a gasket for the flexipipe joint? JP only provided three for the joins in the actual system, not a further two for the front joint - I presume because it isn't needed and doesn't have one as standard

Pfft, should be well into the 30s ;) I expect mine will drop markedly once the exhaust is on though, haha.

Is yours that bad then? The JP purportedly makes no extra noise when cruising.

Oh and I got £34.12 for my old centre caps, lol.
