I'm really hoping Gerrard gets it, He will do a great job, undeniably better than Beckham before him.
I wouldn't be annoyed if Terry got it though.

I think we would all like to see if Gerrard becoming captain would mean he does for England what he does for Liverpool :D

Unfortuantely that is true, it's more in hope than expectation that I would give the captaincy to Gerrard. I don't see how else we would get the real Gerrard for England. If there is a chance of it working then it is worth a try imo.

Plus I don't think there is anything to lose or gain in giving Terry the captains armband, he is a natural leader with or without it.

Interesting stuff.

Considering there are usually only a total of 5 defenders and goalkeepers in a team (6 midfielders and forwards), i'd say the bias is towards the defenders.

I alos heard Rodney Marsh saying that probably the 2 best captains ever were defenders (Bobby Moore and Beckenbauer).

Rodney Marsh knows **** all then. That cheating kraut **** **** doesn't deserve to even be acknowledged as a footballer.
