He's the man to single-handedly change our international fortunes that's what!

Who can possibly argue against such pearls of wisdom as:

On the subject of Crouch, has anyone else noticed that there is an almost direct correlation between how much taller Peter crouch is than our other strikers, and how less good he is than our other strikers?

For instance he is "a lot" taller than Wayne Rooney and "a lot" worse than wayne Rooney.

Where as he "isnt much" taller than Emile Heskey and "isnt much" worse than Emile Heskey.

Beckham and Gerrard are hopeless.
Just shows how much England miss Frank "mid field austin allegro" Lampard.

Out of those 3, Pearce without a doubt. I loved him as a player & you just know he'd put everything he had into the job.

Stuart Pearce for the exact reason given by Johnny. You know he'll be totally focussed on winning every game. He'd even take friendlies seriously, and wouldn't be distracted by huge sums of money, fake sheikhs or getting caught in in the secretary. It's all about England and football with him. The man's got passion.

I'm also against having a foreigner manage England. I don't care how good someone is, I simply can't understand how someone could be motivated to do a job more through professionalism and money than national pride. Besides, it's England, English players, playing in English stadiums for England fans. The manager should be English.

But just remember what happened to Keegan, who wore his English heart on his sleave, too much passion there, and it ended up being his downfall :(

I voted for big Sam, on the obvious things like experience at Euorpean level as well as a long & successful stay in the Premiership.

Pearce is one for the future, not to say if he shadowed big Sam as the assistant manager, could be some thing to look at as well ;)

Everyone knew Keegan was a bad manager though and tactically poor. Pearce on the face of things seems to be competent tactically, AND he has the passion.

Either way I strongly object to a foreign manager, club level - fine, but at international level the same rules that apply to the players governing eligibility should apply to the manager.

Taking the micky out of me when i am at work and have no chance to reply is not fair.
:(

As for the names mentioned, I wouldnt have any of them apart form Hiddink, I dont think Curbishly or Pearce have the ability to take a team of players they only get to see once in a blue moon and do anything constructive with them, plus both their club sides are very inconsistant, City especially tend to hit the panic button far to often in games.

As for Allerdyce, he plays kick and rush, i dont want to see £250,000 million odd pounds worth of footballing talent hitting it long and rushing to get on to knock downs.
Hiddink's sides at least play the game.

Hiddink for me.

Pearce hasn't been around long enough and could end up just being another Kevin Keegan - good motivator but tactically inept.

Hiddink is proven at the highest level.

Of the three English managers though, I think I'd have Sam Allardyce over Pearce, as he has that little bit more experience.

It's got to be Martin O'Neill, there is no other option.

I'm just glad no-one is talking about Alan Pardew being taken away...

He's doing a fantastic job for us, although last year I will admit to wanting him out!!

Fabio Capello or Ottmar Hitzfeld for me, I think we need to go for a proven manger who has worked with big names rather than someone like Sam Alladyce or Stuart Pearce. Also I can actually see why these managers are being linked with the job, but Alan Curbishley? C'mon! I'd rather keep Sven in the job than have Alan Curbishley.

an italian or a german managing the england team..

lol

I take it you mean that they will bring negative tactics to the team? Well, if so I couldn't really care less if they did, I rather see an England team win each game 1-0 and win the World Cup than an exciting team crash out at the group stages.

I took it to mean we'd have the enemy in charge of our team.
