Who will be getting a Vega card and why?

Very much on the fence, performance is the key really, less so the price for me. It's not going to be insanely expensive, it can't afford to be, but if it 'only' ends being circa 1080 levels of performance, I will be less than enthused. That said, if the price is REALLY good, it may be hard to resist. I have always suspected they will follow Nvidia pretty closely for pricing though, so anyone expecting an amazing bargain is going to be disappointed. We really just don't know where it's going to land in respect to these two factors yet though... I don't see how any sensible person can say if they're going to get it or not in lieu of this information lol! :p

Most likely, if price and performance are where they should be. I have a FreeSync monitor and would prefer to support AMD over Nvidia anyway.

I have a Benq 2730Z which is a freesync monitor. I had to return my 1070 due to a minor bug so I think it's a given that I wait for vega regardless if it doesn't beat my old card.

I have a 480 at the moment while I wait for it.

I've just bought a 1080 as the price was right, but I'd go Vega if it's a game changer. However, I'm more inclined to think it'll kick off an arms race and next year could be more interesting.

Vega is a fascinating star and my favourite one in the north hemisphere when viewing it from the telescope. Especially the summer nights in Greece when we had no power in the 80s and early 90s for hundred of kilometres around.
(back then we had ancient systems to transfer power which summer months was on fire literally leaving mainland outside Athens, without power for weeks).

Blimey Panos your not channeling Floppers spirit are you. :p

I myself have a Freesync 1440P Monitor and I like AMD as a company. Maybe this idea of Freesync in loads of monitors was a good move for AMD after all. ;)

Saying that, Vega needs to be a good upgrade to my Fury Tri-X as I dont want to spend lots of money for little performance upgrade. So it's not completely a done deal...but it almost is. :D

Me.

RX480 owner, Freesync screen incoming in the next week or so, and I almost certainly won't be going nVidia again until they choose to support it.

I'm not paying £600 for a top TN screen.

Me. Switched from an X34 to an LG 38UC99./ The Fury card I have atm is handling things ok but the more demanding games need a boost :)

I fear it's gonna be 1080 pricing at least though, leading-edge tech is never cheap...

As in the title - Who will be getting a Vega card and why?

Seriously, I don't understand these threads. There is already a thread about Vega. This is just another speculation thread, there is no new information. Most people can't answer those questions yet. In fact I have seen you give the advice time after about waiting for reviews before deciding to purchase a card.

You guys who said yes they are buying. What if Vega is rubbish? Are you still going to buy? Aside from people like Kaapstad who buy every card that's released, who else is making the decision to buy now without any information?

As for the Why question, I mean, there is no information. Some people have said they are buying Vega because of having a freesync monitor. Again, if Vega is crap will you still buy Vega, just because you have a Freesync monitor? I bet you don't.

So I don't understand the point of asking these questions. There is no info to base an answer on.
