Who will be getting a Vega card and why?

Seriously, I don't understand these threads. There is already a thread about Vega. This is just another speculation thread, there is no new information. Most people can't answer those questions yet. In fact I have seen you give the advice time after about waiting for reviews before deciding to purchase a card.

You guys who said yes they are buying. What if Vega is rubbish? Are you still going to buy? Aside from people like Kaapstad who buy every card that's released, who else is making the decision to buy now without any information?

As for the Why question, I mean, there is no information. Some people have said they are buying Vega because of having a freesync monitor. Again, if Vega is crap will you still buy Vega, just because you have a Freesync monitor? I bet you don't.

So I don't understand the point of asking these questions. There is no info to base an answer on.

One of the reasons I buy AMD cards is brand loyalty, I want them to do well.

I also get on very with AMDMatt and we have a lot of fun benching the cards.

If there's a 1080-level performance card with better value for money yes. I will give up freesync if they don't release a competitive gpu

Yes definitely my upgrade is long overdue, also keeping my eye on Ryzen.
The CPU upgrade is only because I want more native sata ports for more SSDs z77 lacking.

ryzen has my attention also, for some reason i find the thought of a all amd system appealing and i dont even know why

I'm not invested in either VRR monitor type. And I'm due an upgrade as my Titan Blacks are just about starting to struggle at 3440x1440. I'll obviously wait for reviews, but it's a good time to be ready for an upgrade (apart from the cost, of course).

Possibly but it has to be at least as good performance wise and power efficient as my 1070 along with being a good price. The reason being I want a new monitor and simply cannot justify the cost of a good 27" 2560x1440 144hz G-sync one. Freesync monitors are much cheaper.

I would like to see if they have any mid-range offerings that replaces the RX 480 for roughly the same price point, although not sure if I can wait that long so not sure what to do. Its probably going to be June that we see a mid range vega card :(. If OcUK puts the RX 480 below £200 again I could be tempted.

Almost certainly. An upgrade from my 290X is due and I'm not a fan of Nvidia as a company or a brand (I've always hated green for some reason :) ). In fact the last Nvidia card I owned was a Geforce 256 so while I'm not a fan-boy I'm certainly a loyal customer. I'l be looking at Freesync monitors too.

Freesync is one of the main reasons I want Vega, but to be honest I might skip Vega or just not get it on release as there simply are not many games coming out that I deem to be must play. I could happily take 1 year off PC gaming apart from the occasional FIFA 17 and fighting game which are not graphically intensive.

Resident Evil 2 Remake
Cyberpunk 2077
Final Fantasy 15
Squadron 42

These will be out in 12-24 months time. By then Navi will be getting close to coming out or will get a cheap Vega. In the mean time will either use my noisy 290 or just keep my 1070. Also there will be a monitor worth upgrading mine over too by then, a nice Freesync 2 one :D

Replacing my 290 custom water cooled ref card. Love AMD for the innovation and open standards as well as the longevity of support. Hope they have a win with this one and I really don't need to be at the bleeding edge, getting bled by nVidia and their business practices.

Yah, Biased is me. For good reason.

Again brand loyalty and also i want someone to replace my 290X . Looking to get a new freesync screen as well.

Not sure, the Fury X has been one of my worst ATI/AMD experiences to date, my next card will be purchased based on its performance in VR so performance really matters to me this time round.

It could turn out that the guy is paralysed or something, that is the first thing that came to my mind when I read the post.
