Whoo, bought a credit crunch flat with a difference

I wouldn't bother with the central vacuum cleaner. It's a waste of money and you'd be restricted by pipe length in the same way you'd be restricted by a wire using the conventional cleaner. Also you'd still need to exchange the pipe outlets all the time.
My advice is lay redundant wires where you can. I.e. speaker wires, Cat6 etc. If you're struggling money wise perhaps tackle one bedroom at a time.

Ditto, I know someone who built his own house with it installed, he says it's not worth it. Looks cool but you pay loads more, still restricted to the pipes and outlet, and I bet you'll end up getting a dyson down the line one day, guaranteed.

i have always wondered why british homes are so expensive , its literally built with bricks and wood. Thats one simple structure tbh yet the price is so huge...congrats on your new house :)

That is one huge flat - I think you could fit about 8 of my first flat into there and still have space to walk round in.

At least you will get something you wanted in the end - keep the pics flowing, love a bit of DIY - especially if someone else is doing it :D

I take it all the water pipes etc are in place already?

no nothing at all, the flat is connected to both but non of the internal pips or cables are in yet.

yea they sound good but all i ever hear is how rubbish they really are

Nice, that's a lot of space, which I reckon will look fantastic when finished. Jelous.... sigh .... post the pics as you get each stage completed.

Mahoooossive flat and a nice view, what a find. Personally I would be intimidated with all the work that needs doing but I'm no builder :p
