Who's ditching 48XX for 58XX?

After waiting over a year for a decent cooler to come out for the 4870x2, I'll try to refrain from buying any new cards in future, unless they come with a decent, quiet cooler.

lol, yes I bought a 4870 x2 on release day and holy **** those things are loud.
It was so bad I made me look into watercooling and i ended up spending 200 quid on custom cooling just to shut the damn thing up

Im building a new system from scratch and don't really have anything noteworthy to upgrade from at the moment, so I'm going for a 5870 in about a weeks time. The plan is to buy another for CF somewhere down the line when thier about £200. Before I sold my last system I did have a 4870x2 which was a bit too loud and hot for my likeing, It was a toss up between a 4870x2, CF 4890's or the 5870.

After looking at pics of the Sapphire Vapor-X 5870, theres a good chance it'll fit my case (and if so ill be getting that), as if you look at the pic below, you can see the reference card is longer, as they've got the Vapor-X cooler on the reference PCB, so you can see a gap between the cooler and the front of the board, where as the 2nd pic shows Sapphires custom PCB which they are doing for it, and its the same length as the cooler.:)
