Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

Next time you upgrade Will, don't sell your RAM and CPU. All of these things just lay about for me so I just popped them into a system for a back up as well as building my mum a full system too except from one HD and a case. If you do need anything then you can just buy in the MM as it's not your main system. A cheap but powerful gfx card and your laughing.

I used to play Call of Duty a lot online and got pretty good at it but with all these new titles popping up as well upgrading to the Pro I've not played it in about 3months so I will have something to work at (my aim). At least the 9800Pro will urinate all over that !! :D.

I thought my 3700+ was a good overclockers, yours dont need as many volts as mine did :p.

Soon the 8800GTX will be the price of a 6200 :eek:.

I've actually noticed since I've been upgrading more I've actually been playing less games, usually when I had my X800/3700+ rig I would game loads, no its about 4 hours a week, I hope the GT gets me back on track and I stop worrying about performance.

Maybe they had some issues, either way I dont believe the drivers will make such a huge performance impact compared to say if it was ATi cards and using earlier drivers, either way it would be giving or taking a few FPS on NV's side so no question the GT is deffenitly faster by quite abit.

Well look at the results it's barely just in front of the 8800gt so stands to reason it will have to be £160 ish second hand.
Nobody in their right mind will pay much more than that.

no GTX owners in the right mind would sell their GTX at 160ish to get the GT which is slower and costs about the same :p
 
Who said anything about gtx owners selling to get a gt ? if the gt is right up there with the gtx how does that make a used gtx worth more than a brand new gt ? there's loads of gtx cards up for sale and nobody is touching them @£250 i doubt anyone will even for £200 apart from ebay.
I reckon by november 20th gtx will be going for around £150.

so why do you think they want to sell their GTX then? just all of sudden they got bored of the card? :p

if the price for GTX does fall to around 160ish, GTX owners will just not bother and stick with their card till next gen. Hence there wont be many 2nd GTX around => the price wont fall so that brings us back to the beginning :) in short, GTX at 160 is not gonna happen anytime soon ;)

also, there is big different between 250 and 200 ;) Ive seen thing is up for sale in MM for ages without any interests but as soon as the price dropped for even 5-10 quids, its gone in a flash with ppl queued up as well :cool:

edit: just seen your update, I would take the GTX over the GT anytime at 150ish :p

I know it's hard to believe now but things will move fast only a matter of time before everyone and their dad knows the gt matches the gtx at under half the cost.
It will take longer to filter through to ebay etc but it will happen.
Already seeing 640 mb gts cards selling for £130-£140 on there if i'd said that last week i would have been laughed at for that price on an 8800 gts 640mb.
 
Selling from low starting price and currently uncompleted yes, however none sold yet for anywhere near low as you suggest, or even under £175.00 for that matter (except a dead card for spares only). Will take a good few weeks for people to cotton on, i toy around a fair bit selling old kit for new at the right time on said site. :)
 
Be interesting if this was a big smoke and mirrors screen from nvidia and november brought the 9800 series. Sorta like how they said g80 wouldn't be unified.
 
Well you can't go wrong ditching your gts for the gt as the gt will be worth more resale value than the gts in a month let alone a few months.
Yes a 640mb card sold for £132 tonight.
 
I was going to buy a new cpu,mb.ram and gc but will wait until next year now i can just about play crysis with the 320 so will wait for the 9800/r700 but i am likey to change my mind if the new GTX are fast ;)
 
Everyons with GTX's should deffenitly be trying to sell them at around £230-£250, then get a GT, there will be someone who will pay, you should have all stuck ya graphics card up on the bay before I did, I was late and lucky to get £170 for a 2900XT!!.
 
Id have probably gone for the GT now seen as its a good boost up in performance from my 320mb GTS, but that small piddly fan has put me off, you know its going to be loud looking at that, think i'll wait and see what other brands do, as some may not bother with the referance coolers and stick their own one's on, which could be better/quieter. :)

Im looking forawrd to the other reviews, should flood out tomorrow.
 
i hoping theres a galaxy version (pls dont atack me) as previous cards had from them have had zalmans on and been very quiet.
