Who's getting a new GTS?

Well i think i will see if i can wrangle the extra £50 out of the old man for the GTX.

At a later date i might OC it.

Couple of questions though, do these things run hot? What are the stock coolers like? And can i fit an S1 on it for extra cooling?

PS: Whats a good/average OC for the GTX?

Does it really matter?

What matter is where these 3 cards slot into place in terms of performance and of course what kind of rpices we can expect over the coming months.

I'm really bamboozled yet quite excited at the £240 GTX right now, i guess its this weekend only, although i expect more of the prices drops in the future, i just think its a hassle free solution which i can't ignore in my position.

Im sure you did. You sold a GTX a while ago to get a GT instead.

:EDIT:

Just read your post above. his claim still stands, youd look stupid swapping between gtx to gt and then back again lol.

But its all for the "thrill" lmao.

His Claim about what exactly?

I never sold my GTX for a GT.

Guess what they didn't exist.

I have no intention of getting another GTX either.

So I have no idea what on earth you both are dribbling on about.

I sold my GTX a year ago.Understand?

They can run hot, some do and some don't like most cards, the cooler does a decent job and it's quiet upto 85%, you can just hear it over system fans beyond that but it will never get that high unless you force it.

Average overclock is 650/1620/2000, less if your unlucky, more if your lucky.

My 8800GTX does 675/1620/2052. :)

I sold my GTX 3 months after having it last November 2006:rolleyes:

So Janurary 2007

So why did you sell it?

Cheers for the info mate, thats good stuff.

What do you use to OC it? Does it need more volts for that average clock?

Ta.

In fact yes it does.

People are making things up about me in order to convince themselves they have a valid point.

When in essence they are ust talking BS.

Sorry, i've just got loads of questions right now and want them answered.

Trying to deflect attention to my posts instead of a minor argument! :D

PS: Anyone know about the warranty issue on the OC GTX? Is it really 2 years like people are saying (by law)?

cheers.

I used rivatuner to start with but then just flashed the bios, yeah thats with stock volts, you will need to volt mod in most cases to break 690/700 core on the GTX.

I wouldn't be extmre OCing it, might jsut push it to GT stock speeds for extra performance.

Rivatune eh? I take it its trial and error with that thing.

No ideas on extra cooling?

You really don't need extra cooling as it wont help with your overclock unless you increase the volts, just up the fanspeed to 80/85% with rivatuner and that will be fine usually.
