Anyone?

Having been to Silverstone twice, this year I would go somewhere a bit different. So obviously I chose to go to the Shanghai GP! I'm dragging along my girlfriend, who incidentally hates F1... But I think there is hope yet and a live race may just turn her. Or make her hate it even more.. It's touch and go.

Silverstone on the Sunday for me,

First time I have been to a GP and Im excited, any suggestions on best places to go and watch from etc?

Said id go this year (being a summer of minimal commitments) but I'm not 100% sure yet.

Would love to go to silverstone as I grew up not all that far from it and have only been to Friday practice in 08 and qualifying in 1999 but I would have to do the whole race weekend.

That or I'm going to blag a holiday somewhere out of it, Hungary is supposed to be really nice (as a place to go on holiday) or the usual ambition of Spa/Monza/Germany for the fun of it :) (Monaco too but there's no way I'll have the cash to make that excessively good)

Spa and Germany are driveable in a day. Only issue is the tickets for Germany aren't as good as places like Silverstone.

Monza is a flight but is still easy.

Hungary is a bit of a mission to drive, so you could fly. I know people who have been a lot and its a nice country. Its just a shame the race is always a bit meh.

Both Spanish GPs are easy to get to, but suffer the same uninteresting racing problem that Hungary has.

Silverstone is a good solid choice too. Great tickets and depending on where you live easily commutable. Its a bit late to book hotels now though.

The ideal one was Turkey :(. Cheap flight, cheap tickets, bit of sun bathing thrown in. I was planning to go this year :(.

I was planning to fly to any that aren't Silverstone ;) (my polo is a bit horrible to drive after an hour or so as I am 6'4" and St Albans is only about an hour from the track at most)

If I do any European ones it'll probably have to be rolled into a nice holiday too (persuading a woman who likes GAA that F1 is enough of a holiday on its own is a bit of a challenge so I do have to sweeten the deal with normal holiday stuff), Canada would be my top choice but cost rules it out for this year, but a mate went to Hungry last year and said it was a really nice place which is why I'm considering it, despite the track.
