Who's in to electric RC cars?

Thanks

I used to race as a kid, had a Dogfighter works 91' which was great in its day, but I did have 9 or 10 other models at the time.

Budget isn't an issue so much now of course but I do enjoy the build, hence the desire to relive childhood memories :)

I've been using Oople forums so far, they seem a good bunch of guys.

Trouble is, Scotland isn't so hot for tracks/clubs :(

Bump!

Any one got any recommendations for something cheap, fast and fun? Probably only get used once anyway then never touched again, but I fancy one!

Something like a HPI Sprint 2, it's not hard to change to drift spec anyway. Actually scratch that, you can buy them in drift spec too. I'd shy away from the really cheap stuff as spares are hard to come by if you break something, which you will do :p £200 will get you one ready to go.

yeh thats true, some of the cheaper ones are a nightmare for parts, mine isnt so bad to find parts for, luckily all iv done so far is bent some briveshafts, simply re-straighten and carry on for me :D

Going for a BF2 stylie DPV.... been a good build so far, just awaiting new motor wires as the ESC to motor distance is higher than normal.

Almost done, then time to look at another one... tempted by a CC01, CR01 or High lift

I've had a tamiya M-05 with the mini she'll for the summer and loved it as my first real RC Car. I've just ordered a Brushless FTX Vantage from modelsport to use for when the grounds not quite as dry. Anyone have one? They seem to have some good reviews. Looking forward to getting it.

Edit: holy thread revival Batman

Very nice

My son is starting to show an interest in RC so time to get building. I've not been messing with my planes and helis for a while and think a nice car should give him a good taste.

Thought you guys might be interested in seeing some pics of our track build. I will maybe start my own thread. We basically have built our own off-road track in derry, N.Ireland :) Lot of hard work but well worth it :)

1st pic is about a week into the build, 2nd was taken a few weeks ago, 8 months after forming the club.

Lovely rc models. Not enough time for this great hobby nowadays. but still i managed sometimes. Savage trucks are my favorite. I am planning to get a monster truck similar to Savage. I browsed the internet and found a cool http://www.nitrotek.co.uk/rc-cars/e...ruck-pro-brushless-version-black-pick-up.html .This is an extremely fast model with adjustable pro setup for race enthusiasts. It has all the features and more that you would expect from a hobby grade model including double aluminum oil filled shocks on each wheel, working differentials, aluminum parts used where needed including aluminum central drive shaft, slipper clutch and advanced servo saver. What do you suggest folks, shall I go for it?
