Looks like Orange have had absolutely sod all in the way of stock, it would appear. They are now quoting 2-3 week delays on all models, and its unclear where they are with my order! Useless!
Having said that, Vodafone are processing my other order and have told me they are hoping to get it sent out tomorrow provided the credit check goes through fine (which it will), which they are making a start on shortly.
I hate ordering things online, such massive varying degrees of incompetence from all parties involved a lot of the time. Grrrr

I saw on the website it had 10+ in stock against the model I wanted, so I called them to confirm the stock, guy on the phone said there was 29 in stock at the time. Following this confirmation I ordered online including next day delivery @ £9.99.....
I received an email confirmation confirming the order including the stock number at time of order (29). I thought it was odd I hadn't received a shipping notification so decided to give them a call...
After ages on hold the guy told me they didn't have any stock currently and weren't expecting any for 3-4 weeks. The idiot also told me that next day delivery wasn't actually available for iPad 2 yet they had happily took money for it.
Justification was due to 'the system not being able to keep up due to the demand'. I appreciate it's a hot product atm, but only ordered through these as they confirmed stock. Most annoying.
I'm awaiting my full refund....

So Mac-Warehouse can't fulfil any orders made today by the looks of it. Like you, Turbo, I tried whatever I could to get the guy on the phone to confirm that they had them physically there in stock, he said stock was showing on the system and was "99% sure" they still had some left.
I had a feeling this would happen and that they'd have none left but decided to chance it anyway as the waiting time elsewhere is so long. Very disappointed if this is the case, however I ordered the 64gb black version.

Can anyone who has managed to get a white ipad comment on some people's worries that it might be too 'distracting' when watching a movie or playing a game? Was talking to someone about it today but I'm not too fussed because eve nif I had a white one I'd be putting it in a case!
I had an order on MacWarehouse this morning - then the iPad 2 page said out of stock so I gave them a call. Heard the same story as a few others are suggesting they said that the stock they had was still being allocated so I wasn't guaranteed one until this had been complete.
That said, looks as though I just about got lucky as i've just had a despatch notification and it's due tomorrow.

I dont have mine yet, but I've used a white one.
I think it looks much, much better than the black. I think it might be a bit more distracting when watching a movie, but in all honesty I cant see many people even thinking about it to be honest.
The videos and pictures around dont do the white model justice, I was very impressed.

Yeah, I was really quite annoyed. Especially when he spouted that "... you might have actually noticed on the site that next day delivery is not available for iPad2 order.." - so why have it as an option and actually take the money off the customer for it?!
I think I'm having the same problem. I ordered mine from PCWorld Business in the early afternoon when they said they had 101 in stock, it's still 'In Progress' so I'm guessing the stock count was not up to date when I ordered :/
Now I have the hassle of contacting them to cancel my order, great.

Thanks for the info, was just wondering as I've noticed some places have stock of the white and not the black, so was looking into it if my purple shirt order comes to nothing. I've also bought a black case for the iPad 2, so I suppose it wouldn't make that much of a difference as the case is black and maybe that little bit of white 'peeking' through the case might look kinda nice!
