Whos thinking of sticking with what theyve got and bypassing the "next gen" cards??

1680 x 1050 here - my GTX260 is only a few months old, and is quite sufficient at the moment. Perhaps I'll upgrade next year, when my whole system will be due for a refit.

Im still sticking with my 8800GTX's for now. Brought the first a few months after they came out and the second another year down the line and they never give me any trouble in games at the resolution I play at (1650).

Will consider upgrading to a 5870X2 or the next generation Nvidia cards when they come out, for now the price/performance upgrade benefits still don't seem right.

I'm gonna stick with what I have for the time being, can't afford to buy the next gen cards although I will keep an eye out for any bargains on the 4850/70 & gts250/gtx260 generation of cards.

Theres only 2 games that will make me update my 4850 and even then it will only be if i cant maintain a steady 40-50fps....

Battlefield 3

Half Life 2 Episode 3

Anything else will just be console ports for the next 2 -3 years until a new gen of DX11 based consoles launch, and my 4850 is MORE than capable of handling ANY game based on 360/PS3 specs.....

Sad really.....but such is Pc gaming nowdays..:(...

Being able to play console ports at higher resolutions, isnt what i call progress...

I am seeing as there's no good new games coming that need more than my 4850 for 1680-1050.

I cant believe anyones upgraded from a 4870 / gtx 260.

My 6600GT still runs every game at a decent FPS and my chosen resolution (192*120), so I think I'll stick with it for another year :D

8800 GTS 320 Mb here and I'll be sticking to that card until I can check on the length of the new stuff since it's already looking tight in my current case (Coolermaster Centurion 5).

*stokes his X1950XTX - still plays QW:ET* When they produce some better titles then maybe (DIII for example) but console seems better for this at the moment..

I'm just putting together a new computer, so it would be silly for me not to go for the best and newest at the moment. Two 5850's on order! :D

I cant see diablo 3 not being maxable on that card either

I used to keep up to date with the latest graphics cards but as I only game at 1280x1024 I haven't thought it's worth it lately

I play a lot less games than I used to and most games still render fast enough for me at that resolution (even later buys like Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead)

I'm still using my FX62 (bought over three years ago) and HD 2900XT (bought over two years ago)!
