Whose case is feeling the heat?

I'd like to see what temps my SFF system would have hit today unmodded. Actually, I wouldn't, as it would have long since died from heatstroke. Thanks to the mods it received the CPU is currently at 48C @ 100% load with fans on 50% (focused flow though, so not quiet, but tolerable).

As for the rest of my systems, well, they're liking the move I made to CM Stackers earlier this year, although the CPU in one of them hit 55 (100% load) when my aircon shut down and I didn't notice. :o

But you are slightly strange wanting to run DC stuff in this weather.

This thread can be misleading, as its very cool where I am now, and my lappy's hdd is at 35, which is normal.

:D

At least the temps have gone down, my PC was coping well but I was not!

Assuming you mean Folding, the bigger stuff will royally suck. I know this from experience. Running with the 'deadlineless' option might work better, but my policy is if you're paying the electricity bill, faster is better. If you're not, anything goes.

I have 20 odd p2 450's for a couple of months you see.

Anyone care to baby step me through the process on msn tommorrow?

Followed the easy guide last time and could never get it to work. :(

Both my case fans are @ 5v, my CPU is air cooled by a Akasa EVO33 with fan at lowest speed (1600 rpm). CPU is a winny 3200 overclocked to 2.2ghz.

GFX card is 6800GT overclocked to 400/1100 cooled by an arctic silencer.

It is very hot in my room at the moment as well.

BTW these temps are idle, idont know how to measure the temps when its under load, like a game?. I played HL2 Episode 1 to completion and it was fine so thats good enough for me. My rig is also virtually silent as well, and overclocked, in a room that is easily 25oc, with both case fans at 5v and cpu fan at 1600rpm (which is quite low for 80mm). I think that says a lot for the eclipse's cooling potential, and also the Arctic silencer is doing a good job as well.

Last summer i had a cheap case and stock gfx cooler, my gpu was reaching temps of over 90oc after exiting a game and took ages to get back down to its idle temp of 68oc  . That was with stock fan on full a dual 70mm pci cooler under the card so it was dam loud. Thats when i knew i had to do something to combat the heat, so i purchased an eclipse and a Arctic silencer and have never had to worry about temps since.

ive had to put my cpu/sli back to stock clocks as the heat the past few days was killing me pc :( i did a bit of messing about in my case (chieftech dragon) trying to help air flow but there isnt much cool air to go around in my room :( getting up to 60c on cpu (4400+) on low fan speeds

*prays for wet summer  :D

hmmm, last nights heat got the cpu to 61c under load
it was idle at 55c on start up after the flat was locked up for the day.

thats a watercooled 120mm system - TB 1700 @ 2.4ghz
best chip I have ever owned for £20.00 :)

CPU temp is virtually unchanged (God bless watercooling) but my HDD temps for both drives have jumped 9deg from a fortnight ago. GPU is running maybe 3-4deg higher.
