Why are we afraid of fish?

I'm going to contradict myself in a moment so bare with me.

I don't like fish. I've tried.
About 18 months ago as part of trying a healthier lifestyle as a family we tried a number of different fish "Fresh" Frozen fish ready meals tinned etc etc. And I didn't like any of it.

Fast forward until last year on Holiday in the Maldives and I ate some sort of fish dish every day. I thought to myself well its all inclusive if I dont like it I can get a plate of something else. Maybe it was because the fish was Fresh and Not "Fresh" that it didn't taste really fishy. A couple of weeks ago I had a craving for Fish 'n Chips from the chippy which I wolfed down.

If I could find a fish that tastes like steak I'm laughing.

I think the reef fish that i had when i was there last summer was the meatiest fish i have ever had!

Yummi, just had breakfast. Love a bit of kipper

Now that is a breakfast! :D

Bit confused by the OP really. We already eat too much fish. Many species are being overfished and we still trawl which absolutely destroys the seabed.

Quidco have £23 (£15 code + £8 cashback) off £75 shopping at Ocado atm. Thought I'd use it to stock up on cupboard stuff. Got lots of tins/cans of fish, 27 to be exact! Haha. Including tuna, pink salmon, red salmon, sardines, mackerel and kipper. Also, some fresh salmon for the following couple of days after it's all delivered!

We eat too much of the same fish ;)
Well said, that man.

In addition to that point, a lot of the seafood landed in British waters ends up being shipped overseas to those markets who appreciate the quality and variety our fair isles have to offer.

And then we set about importing species like Cod, Salmon, Pollock and Tuna from faraway places instead of eating what we've got right on our doorstep.

All a bit stupid really, isn't it?

Can't stand bones, hence most of my fish being mackerel, salmon or tuna steak.

Love a few fillets of mackerel with some dressed leaves and mango though. Asda have a wagamamas ginger+chilli sauce that works well with oily fish+mango.

nothing better then fresh fish .. we in birmingham have a awesome fish market .. fresh crab meat is ***** heavenly .. also fresh prawns , tuna steaks , haddock , fresh mackerel ... expensive but worth it .. i cannot stand canned fish anymore ... the taste is just lost ...

Do not swear!!

Love all of that - but I don't love the swearing!
