Guys I apologise for the stuff I wrote last night. I was really drunk and angry.
Was it ever established whether it is a compatibility issue or not?
It's just annoying to be honest as my PS3 broke a couple of weeks ago. That might explain some of that anger last night![]()

I bet sony release HD versions of ps3 games on the ps4.![]()
I really don't think it's as simple as you make it sound. My thought process is that Sony realised they could make more profit by redistributing the same content via PSN download - they were unable to do this previously on their consoles as PSN wasn't around yet.
Like micro-transactions in GT6 do they give us 7 million credits for £40 because they love us and couldn't have made it easier to earn credits in game or because PSN opened up this avenue and they wanted to cash in big time in the profitability stakes?
They released plenty of there own HD games on the ps3.
Wow you actually think that the need to have the PS3 CPU and GPU sub-system would infer that the PS4 APU couldnt actually be easily involved in running PS3 gamesHell given a choice would you rather spend 60 quid on some skanky eye hardware that you ain't gonna use or spend 50 to 60 quid to be able to put your PS3 to pasture and play all your old/ existing games but now with post processing fxaa etc?
It's an absolute no brainer.
Why buy a PS4 and then want to play PS3 games?
Don't get it.
Because Gaikai is going to be a paid service one way or the other, and tbh they are underutilising the service if thats all theyll be using it for. People that want BC can then pay for it, but I still think it will be the minority that do. BC was always a 'nice to have' feature, but it was rarely used. Honestly thats the crux of the argument...if people didn't want BC why would Sony have bought and be offering gaikai streaming of games? The cost to buy a couple of games again and potential streaming subscription service AND the Internet cost to download and run this would make the additional cost of BC hardware on the PS4 look like a bargain.
Except with hw you have infinite chance to play the old games online and offline. With no lag or reliance upon the game being released to gaikai
