Why do cats get orgasmic

I love cats when ever I see one outside I just want to go up to it and give it a love.

Here's some pics of my cats

One of our five does something I've never seen or heard of a cat doing before - he fetches.

One of my girlfriend's cats (Mitzi) also plays fetch, it's fantastic to watch. She'll even get her 'fetch toy' without being prompted and drop it on your feet, then miaows and waits till you throw it for her. Just the other day she woke me up by dropping her toy on my head before jumping on me. She's also one of those weird cats that sniff pits and she just loves grooming my goatee.

Then there's Zelda, a cat like no other that I've known. She's a speshul little thing, totally touched in the head. I'm also positive she's cross-bred with a squirrel. One of her best personality traits is her fight style, she doesn't fight with claws like a normal cat, she tries to centre her bum on the other cats nose, a backwards attack if you will.

A little tip for people whos cats wont drink still water, try a water fountain, one of my cats wouldn't drink and kept getting ill because of it so we got him one of these

now he drinks all the time!
Pfft! £30 notes. My dog would quite happily drink from the bog if its bowl was dry. Fussy beggers ;)

I've got one for you cat owners. Why do cats walk through a load of mud, jump on the back of my car, walk the whole length of it, slide down the windscreen over the bonnet then shoot off

We have one of those, but it doesn't get switched on any more. Mine prefer drinking out of the tap in the bath .

Ahh. Souvenirs from her victims. ;)

One thing that amused me on New years Eve last week was someone let a firework off outside and my Cat was sleeping on the bed.I expected her to run and hide so was amazed that she stood up looked at the window and growled really really loudly ( from the belly)..It sounded very menacing  she only ever did this once before when someone brought a dog round that she didnt like lol....normally she,s very quiet !

I know what you mean - they have a way of getting into your affections completely by stealth. When the missus suggested we get a cat I was really reluctant as I didn't like them as creatures - I thought they were sly, devious horrible animals. Now I wouldn't be without them - of our five, we've had four of them from when they were kittens and it has been fascinating to watch them develop, both physically and as personalities. We love them to bits and would beat the living crap out of anybody who harmed them.

We were originally only going to have one and wanted a kitten, so we went to the Wood Green Rescue Centre just outside Huntingdon. They had a few available but we were shown a cage with these two tiny little kittens that weren't brother and sister by birth but had been kept together since they were handed in to the Centre. The female had a slight deformity in that she was missing a foot on one of her back legs - before she was born, the umbilical cord had wrapped around it, restricted the blood flow and stopped it developing properly and what little foot had formed had been amputated soon after birth.

It was love at first sight as soon as we saw them and it broke our hearts to think of separating them - we didn't think anybody would take the female with her being less than perfect and we couldn't bear the thought of her being left on her own - so we took both of them.

That was eight or nine years ago - time flies. Mac is now the dominant male of the five and built like a brick ****house - that said, he is a complete and utter big girl's blouse, he rules via his sheer presence and only fights as a last resort. His 'sister' Meggy isn't as big as him physically, but makes up for it in sheer bolshiness - she's a right little diva and despite her deformity is just as nimble and difficult to catch as her 'brother'. She's jet black and looks like a little panther - she's my wife's favourite and the manipulative little bugger knows it!

i once cut my cats wiskers all of i was like 6 so dont hold it against me.

Yea did that to a dog of mine when i was around that age too :D He should've bitten me tbh, i would if i was him.

my current cat (tom cat) is very dog like.
i got him at 4 months old and he was brought up with a dog before we got him.
he runs the door when the postman comes and runs to the phone when it rings. he also licks a lot, and i mean a lot. one of the funniest things he did when we first got him is he would sneak up to the bathroom and bring the flannel down in his mouth to us, WTF! :D

but happy to help with any queries, I got a shedload of useless information floating around….

actually, I was wondering if anyone knew the reason for this:

only two of our cats do this, but when they see a bird in the tree outside,
they sit on the windowsill and make a "pfft...pfft...pfft" sound.

They only make this sound in that exact situation.
Anyone know why ?

A lot of cats do it when looking outside, very common. 'Cat chatter'

heh, it didn't answser my question, but it gave me the right term to google on, so thanks :)

from: http://www.xmission.com/~emailbox/whycat.htm

"Why does a cat chatter when he sees a bird?

When a cat kills prey, it bites down quickly several times. The "chatter" is simulating the cat's behavior at the time of attack.
Alternatively (according to a visitor): it's pure and simple frustration. When a cat is stalking or killing a bird, they're almost invariably completely silent. It's when they are shut off from the prey that they chatter."
