Why Do DHL lie?

It varies from company to company, but it's very common that drivers do not load their own vans. There's no time to load a van and then do a full day.

Which makes his action even more understandable. As odds are those loading the van scanned the package in...so it must have gone missing whilst with the driver.

From all the couriers out there, DHL Express is by far the best and most consistent, especially when it comes to customer service.

I think the reason for them getting a bad name is due to the other budget services that exist under the DHL brand ie. DHL eCommerce, DHL parcel (ex UK Mail)

UPS since Brexit have been nothing short of shocking. Customer service is terrible, delays go into many weeks (we still have parcels stuck that were shipped in January and haven’t been delivered yet)

yep, i'm glad i dodged that bullet long enough that now i know simply not order anything that is delivered by them.

but the stories i've been hearing about the importation of stuff via ups can only rightfully be described as a *********

"Excuse me, I'm expecting a delivery, do you have it?"

"Yeah, it's on my list but I can't find it in the van, sorry about that"

"Aww OK, thanks"

Then he would have known exactly what the situation was and could have taken the appropriate action to contact the seller, DHL, whatever.

Or is that too much common sense?

i did this the other day but instead got my parcel :)

i basically approached the driver and asked.

People dont bite.

buy something from europe, make sure it gets shipped via ups, then come back and say dhl are bad.....
Not sure that is UPS fault. They're normally top dog when it comes to important and expensive deliveries e.g. jewelry.

Brexit processes and hold ups at the border hardly their fault.

of all the stuff i've bought internationally ups are the only company who have had delays and unnecessary paperwork involved once it's hit uk shores.

and this was pre-brexit......

Ah right. Just shows how different folks experiences can be. I lived 2 mins from their depo in Kentish Town and always rated them as 'the best of the best'.

They can all be crap really. One person will give a glowing review, another will have the worst experience going. People unanimously agree hermes are crap though, oh and yodel.

they seem to be competent enough at actually moving parcels around, but the moment there's any paperwork involved they seem to go absolutely mental.

you probably wouldn't see the problem if you hadn't used them for non-eu (and now eu) deliveries.

i suppose this is a fair point, for example i've had nothing short of a perfect track record with stuff shipped via ems but i'm sure there must be horror stories out there.

Had them for an EU delivery that matches your experience but put it down to customs changes.

Edit: yes, at least we can all align on Hermes lol. Altho my local driver now is great.

Anything involving UPS and EU was so bad that we've boycotted them in the UK completely, takes forever to speak to anyone that knows what they're doing. They claim there's missing paperwork / errors etc.

All of our UPS imports this year somehow haven't even been declared properly and are missing from all the PVA statements .... no such issues with DHL.

very much mirrors what i've been hearing from folks on other forums with regards to ups imports.

good to hear dhl are ok still, have some stuff coming from russia via them.

I had a problem with Parcel Farse once where I kept getting emails saying the driver ran out of hours and they'll deliver tomorrow. This went on for a few days until I kicked off on twitter (no company likes that) and they eventually made sure it got delivered.
