also to only dumo on doorstep and do a runner
Still laugh when I got a card through the door stating my parcel had been left with my neighbour's at house #35. Two problems there, 1.) my street only goes up to #31 and 2.) if #35 did exist and they'd left there it is far from being my 'neighbour'. I knocked on every #35 in about a half mile radius of my house, got nothing.
Hi,
Can you tell me how to do that please?
When I rang I get the choice to book a delivery or track a delivery. If I go for track I'm asked to enter my consignment number. An automated voice then asks me to confirm the postcode and then I'm told, "The parcel is out for delivery, it will be with you by 18:00hrs".
Which is, see below, another lie.
I think DHL have ruined their name a bit by buying up couriers and rebranding them, as everyone just assumes every DHL is the same
The reason they do it is the same reason most people do things, because there are no repercussions. They don't refund you, they don't get in trouble and the only person who loses out is the recipient who they don't really care about.
Royal Mail SD because it is actually guaranteed.
must admit, for all the jokes about "royal snail" etc i've never had a single problem with rm delivery, indeed the majority of times it tends to turn up next (working) day regardless of whether or not it's a "next day" service or not.
We in transport don’t call them

Absolutely this. The problem is, most of the services they (any delivery company) offer aren't actually guaranteed - they might say "24 hours" or "next day" or whatever BS their marketing department came up with, but the small print basically says as long it turns up within ~a month then they've done their job. Meanwhile you as the sender are stuck with an irate customer who is demanding a refund for the "next day" delivery they paid extra for.
This is the reason I will now as a sender only ever use DPD (who I have never had an issue with), or Royal Mail SD because it is actually guaranteed.
