Why do I hate apple?

Pfff where are all these apple users coming from? Especially on an overclock forum?
I though 99% of all people used windows, and the remaining 1 % used a linux type, I never knew there were people seriously liking and defending OSX?
Is it a UK only hype or something? I've never seen & known anyone as a person that uses a mac.
-_-

It's not an issue about WMP it's the fact that out of the box WMP doesn't allow you to play DVD's. At least my copy didn't. I bought Nvidia codec thing before I realised I could just download VLC. OT but; PowerDVD is possibly the most horrible piece of software I have ever had the miss fortune to use.

Seen a few people use them in France does that help? :p

The Europe issue led to MS being forced to sell a version of XP without WMP. It sold very, very few copies, no PC manufacturers elected to use it, and the normal version of XP (with WMP) was still sold alongside it.

What I'm talking about has nothing to do with WMP and the ruling you mentioned.

To play DVDs using the Player, you must have a DVD-ROM drive, a computer running the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, and either a software or hardware DVD decoder installed on your computer. (By default, Windows does not include a DVD decoder.)

Regarding the DVD, are you using Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Enterprise? If so, DVD playback isn’t included with the operating system. Only Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate include DVD playback.

If you're talking about Dell specifically, I'd say their machines are fairly nice looking, for the price they go for. They're very, very quiet too. PCs aren't the ugly beige, bulky boxes they used to be.

They are quite nice looking but on a par with the iMac? They aren't everyone's cup of tea but I think most people would think they look better. And Apple computers are quieter than Dell's. That's a fact. Dell do happen to have the next best though to be fair.

There's a whole section for Mac users on these fine forums. Stop being so childish.

Only since a month or so.
461 threads in both apple forums compared to 18.3 k in the windows ones, doesn't that explain the popularity of each?
What's an os that can't normally run games, why on earth would you spend over a thousand on a mac or whatever they cost and not be able to play crysis on it?

Dell PCs are nice but the amount of bloatwares that come with it is unbelievable and slows down the whole system. I don't know how Dell can think it's ok to force the craps in customers' systems.

To rub the salt into wound, system restore even has bloatwares in it! To get rid of it, you either to have to get a original Windows disc or uninstall applications.

Though, its fine for me buying one for myself but not for friends'!

Apparantly...

Oh dear are you 12? there is life after games you know, like a mac primarily being aimed at design work and photographers and film makers, macs were never built/designed to play games lol, and as for the top bit you answered that yourself there so little posts on them because this is primarily a PC overclockers forum lol, and no it was not only a month ago those forums were created, they were only put into their "Apple Mac" section about a month ago

I've just been thinking, why would a mac user even join this forum in the first place? it's not like the average mac user is going to google overclockers or something.

Surely the new addition of those forums shows the growing use and appreciation for Mac and associated software.

As for your second question, I will be able to play Crysis. I've already stated I'll be buying a copy of Vista for that very purpose and the hardware in the MBP will be fine to run it.

I have nothing against Windows (except my current version of XP :p) I have nothing against PCs. I've just decided to go down the mac route for my next upgrade.

is it really that hard to understand?

Easy I can't remember what version it was so long ago. I don't really see the point of using a newer version when VLC does everything I want.

Most of us either still have a PC or saw the light and changed over to Mac whilst being here.

We get more and more users switching. Strangely not many switch back... ;)

I found out about OCUK in 2000/2001 something like that. At the time I was a PC user and funnily enough my first post was asking for help because something (I forget what) wouldn't work.

The only reason I would need to use a PC anyway (or rather the PC OS) is to play the occasional game. The reason for that has been explained rather well by FireSkull.
