You are running a X2 @ 2.7ghz FFS:D

And that last bit clearly shows your lack of knowledge on the subject.

EDIT:

Link to your 8hrs prime stabilty shot of 3.6ghz?

In my Q6600 overclocking thread.

Thanks

BTW what work mac do you use lol?

@ yantorsen: then ill have to retract my better comment for now as i really cba to explain lol.

Explain both of those comments? you do know that in overclocking people get good samples and bad samples? i had the x2 higher but thats as high as it would go stable,

Check out my new specs in sig, currently working on getting it stable at 4ghz just for fun lol

You cant but they dont make jokes and hell of a lot of support forums about BSOD and other windows problems for nothing, youve got lucky hell even i have my pc works great never had a BSOD.

Im thinking more along the lines of, i can configure a computer system correctly as oppsoed to people that get crahses on their pc, they obviously dont know how to set a computer system up properly. The majority of problems is down to the hardware being faulty or the user not becuase its a computer system.

lol good night. and it's not my real name punk.

I was going to bed, but I spotted that comment and thought I might linger long enough to RTM. It was a bit un-called for don't you think? I realise it's a pseudonym my real name isn't Panzerbjorn either. I was just making an interesting observation based on some coincidences that I thought I would share with you all. :)

Then I get called a punk. What's with the attitude?

You must be joking. I have seen a plenty of systems with BSOD from Dell, HP etc, not just self-build systems.

It's more to do with a lottery combination of hardware/firmware/drivers rather than users' error. I tend to research on motherboards before buying them but sometimes you can't avoid them.

Expensive perhaps, not overpriced.

http://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200601/the_myth_of_the_overpriced_mac/

I'll add that I think Mac's are infinitely better than PC's and I will never be going back unless Microsoft introduces something amazing. And since we've recently had Vista, that's going to be a loooong time.

I think the problem with many Mac v PC debates is that while nearly all the Mac users will have used Windows a lot, not many Windows users have used Mac's.

He didn't actually get into prices or specifications at all, he just started ranting. I can't even believe you linked that article.

They are still over priced.

Have to agree, i like macs, but damn they are stupidly expensive, but you do get what you pay for.

Logic Pro 8 significantly tops any other piece of music software i've used before. Nuff said.

And no dongle! Woot!!

Smart move by Apple, people do want to pay for software so Logic being free means that they will ship more Computers! Get more money!

Why is it, every Mac user has not only a poor attitude to computing in general, but is so ignorant of computer business practices cannot see the system they buy into a Mac.

The entire "concept" of a Mac is a disturbing meme. Not only is there no seperation of hardware and software, they have to "market" Mac as some kind of lifestyle choice. PCs are grey boxes because they are sold on what they can *do* - anything.

Ask yourself the question - why does no-one want to install Mac OS X on their PC? Plenty of people mess with Windows and Linux, but not OS X...

Why does Mac have such a tiny tiny portion of industry? Render farms are run in Linux. Administration in large companies is all done on windows and Office.

Seems the only people who are using Macs are trendy schools, media arts students and the odd "entrepreneur".

Generalise much?

You can just as easy buy a Mac and install Windows. Secondly, Apple choose to market it the way they do because it works for them. They make billions in revenue which is great for their shareholders. The same for any business tbh.

Apple can't compete with Dell and other manufacturers because Mac's are more expensive. They wouldn't win. The average consumer is tempted by adverts on the TV showing laptops for £350 or towers for even less. Apple products are aimed higher than that.

And you say I'm ignorant of the computer world? Plenty of people do this. The reason more don't is because it's illegal and discussion of it is banned on many forums (including this one) and secondly because a lot of benefit is gained from the hardware working together with the software. Thirdly, where would you get it. Torrent only.

Again Apple isn't aiming for render farm use or big business use. Because they're more expensive. Why would a law firm spend more on Mac's when all they're using is word processing, email, and accounting? Why would a web hosting company pay a premium?

Why would they pay extra for better design? Or DVD playback? Or iMovie? Or Front Row? These are meaningless to businesses.

Apple has to concentrate on where it can compete. Niche markets are where it does best.

Why do almost all businesses have basic cloth computer chairs rather than Hermon Miller Aeron's? It's obvious mate.

I think a lot of the public are ignorant of Mac's. Why would a parent risk £1k buying an iMac for their children when a Windows box (that everyone will know how to work from school/work) costs £700? Apple have only recently started marketing to general consumers. There are less than 10 Apple Stores in the whole country and only 1 or 2 models in purple shirt land. And you wonder why no-one buys them? Most people probably don't know what they are.

What I personally have found is that when people see them in action they generally want one. Since buying my iBook a few years ago, my friend at Uni bought a Mac Mini, my brother bought a MacBook and my dad is adamant that his next computer will be a Mac. Without me none of them would have considered them let alone bought one.

Incidentally, it's interesting to see that on average Mac users are more intelligent and richer than Windows users. That probably explains Apple's marketing structure.
