Why do you do it?

Yes, I also hate it when this happens and it always seems to be certain members as well, not mentioning names though.

Examples?

I cannot be bothered nor do i have the time to go back through a lot of threads ive viewed recently to find them, but i thought ot myself a few days ago that i was going to put you on my ignore list for that reason alone.
So my own personal opinion.

Then your personal opinion is wrong unless you can actually come up with proof.
Pweese pweese pweese don't put me on an ignore list, my life will be worthless if you can't read my informative posts.

I'd say you're ok. Ninja economist seems to just love ruining threads though.

I'd say they were closer to comedy gold than a thread ruiner but I guess that isn't necessarily a common opinion. :)

As for the original topic it depends on what is being asked whether I would consider answering, if it is something along the lines of "Guilty or not - Coronation Street" I wouldn't even open the thread in the first place as it holds rather less interest for me than paint drying but if it is say "Tattoos, yay or nay?" then I might consider posting on the basis that although I am not generally that interested in them I could still have an opinion on whether an individual tattoo looks good. These are just examples though, I don't think I've ever responded in the flame-fest that is the average tattoo thread but I can't think of a more obvious example.

Some people do this and it's fine. Just expressing their opinion, which again can sometimes be expressed in the wrong place, at the wrong time in the wrong manor.

I hate it when there's a thread on say the 360 and you just get people coming in making smarmy little comments about how the PS3 is better, and vise versa. It's just gotten so old that it's unbelievable. I just don't bother reading/posting in threads such as ones I've just mentioned.

I do understand his humour, just not to the extent of going totally off topic and becoming offensive.

It's older than you think, I remember being at school and people arguing about which was better the NES or Master System. NES All the way.!!!

Anyway, what I was originally talking about was not about people having the right to express their opinions or debating. What I mean is when a thread has a title saying "Coronation Street: Guilty or Not Guilty?" why someone who has no interest feels the need to go into that thread in the first place?

If you dont like it, why are you reading about it? it's like being a vegetarian and complaining about the taste of your big mac?
