Why do you support your team?

Born an bread in Manchester, all of my family have supported Man U as far back as I can remember therefore I joined in that tradition :p.

Born and Bread within a few miles of Old Trafford. Got married at Old Trafford. All the family are reds. Up until this season I was a season ticket holder for the best part of twenty years. I would be hung drawn and quatered if I dared mention supporting another team

Grew up 3 miles from Celtic park. Went to all the home games with my dad from the age of 4 to roughly 8.

My mothers side are all Gers fans. I feel sorry for em. ;)

Up here in Glasgow you don't really get a choice which team you support.

You could support Partick but then probably your own family would disown you. ;)

I'm originally from Edinburgh so I was only ever likely to support one of two teams, I picked maroon and I'm very glad I did. It is interesting if nothing else not knowing what is going to be happening at the club because the owner is a loon. :)

I started supporting Liverpool in the mid-90s, no idea why really. I was quite young, about 5 or 6 and I probably just liked their strip or something :D

I can't be called a glory hunter coz they were pretty crap back then :p

Arsenal. Supported them since I was 7. Maybe earlier, I dunno. But it was around the time they were doing good in Europe - which was the 93/94 season. And of course, my favourite player was IAN WRIGHT! WRIGHT! WRIGHT! Then the following season we lost the title with this goal. :( Still remember that. Anyway, I support them because they are a London team and were doing well at the time. And Ian Wright was my idol.

My local team are Queens Park Rangers though, closely followed by Chelsea. If I was forced to choose a second team, it'd probably be Chelsea because they are more local to me.

I started supporting Arsenal when I was about 3 years old, don't know why, my parents both dislike football and I only found out many years later that my grandad used to go in the 30's.

After 21 years as a season ticket holder and 500+ games, I'm not going to stop until I peg it.

Despite being brought up in Norfolk I was born in Liverpool and most of my family are from Liverpool. Not sure how I ended up a red though as most of my family are blues

I support Tottenham because it used to be my home team. And stayed with them when I moved away from north london.

At my primary school almost all the other boys supported Arsenal, and because I was an awkward bugger, even at that young age, I just went against the trend and went for Tottenham, even though they were in the second division at that time. Even my dad wouldn't take me to WHL, and I visited Highbury with him many times before going to WHL. First time I managed to see Tottenham play was at Highbury in their first season after promotion in 1950.

because my dad supports them.

Surely that's everyone else's answer?

Nah, my dad doesn't even like football much (and with my choice of teams you could say I don't like football much either ;)). If you ask him he'd probably say East Fife was his team because he once won a bet on them but he does now check the Hearts results every so often because of me.
