Why doesn't a third party release these controller?

I think all the people who are complaining about the PS3 pad are just tards and need lessons in how to use it properly - a good worker never blames his tools etc. :p

so lets sum up
you make a thread saying no discussion about what is better
you then go on to do just that and get into a strop about it
:o

The Playstation pad has pretty much stayed the same design ever since the PS1 was launched, look at the amount of consoles Sony have sold PS1, PS2 and PS3 and how big a name Playstation has become and then complain about the controller. I don't understand why people are trying to fix a controller when there is nothing wrong with it anyway.

it doesnt really matter how big the brand is, people are still entitled to dislike the pads lol.

In fact we have been using this same design for the last 10 years, and no one complained until recently when the 360 came out.

People were complaining long before when it was apparent FPS games weren't comfortable on the Dual Shock 2 (Playstation 2). The Internet has brought a lot more peoples opinions to the fore.

I remember trying to play UT on PS2, would have had more luck trying to play Supreme Commander with a wooden spoon and a saucepan. That experience was the reason I didn't get Halo at launch (waiting hopefully for the PC release) Finally gave in when they did the compensation package for people who bought it at launch and haven't looked back since.

Don't see what is wrong with the ps3 pad personally. Nor do I have a problem with the Xbox pad.

One thing I will say though, I HATE the d-pad on the xbox control. Only game I play on it is PES2008 against my mates. I have a ps3 and use the d-pad on that to play PES. On the xbox my players sometimes just don't run in the right direction. If they made the d-pad the same as the PS3 pad I would be absolutely fine with it.

For that reason alone I prefer the PS3 control.

I would happily use a 360 controller on my PS3. Seeing as the PS3 controllers suck balls.

Agreed. I can't stand the PS3 controller. Light, flimsy feeling and the thumbsticks are in the wrong position.

360 controller feels a lot more substantial, is comfortable and the sticks are in a more natural place. The D-Pad is rubbish on the 360 pad though. That's the only bit I'd want from the PS3 pad...the D-Pad.

The first thing I thought when I used a PS3 pad was how light it was, it just doesn't feel right. I wouldn't say they are flimsy, but definately too light.

Originally (with the launch of PS3) they were, I believe they made them better around the 40gb console release.

people have always complained about the pads. the original xbox had the left stick higher as well, dont forget. and the reason people prefer that is because its a more natural position for the thumbs.

And the GameCube.

N64 had great ergonomics and people always complained about the dual shocks stick positions but since the net wasn't a prolific then it was broadcast a lot less.

I for one would like the PS3 pad for the 360. The back of my hand starts to ache after a few mins of playing with the 360 pad.
