Why GPU prices are NOT likely to drop significantly EVER!

I don't know what big deal you folks are making, I worked hard for years became one of the best traders and all my bills are paid for now.
That's the long and short of it.

I think the issue may be trying to flex on a computer enthusiast forum, in a graphic card subsection, about your trading prowess.

I'd rather see an article in the FT, Forbes, or some relevant publication.

I also don't know what Courtney has done to upset you - yesterday she couldn't afford food and you were laughing at her today you're referring to her as a pleb. Poor girl.

So this thread turned out to be complete BS, considering that some sellers on auction sites are selling RTX 3050s for about £300. It's a capable 1080p card...

lol at this thread...

The rig isn't what I'd expect from someone so successful. As a pc enthusiast if we all had large money the majority would probably have the best spec we could find!

I get it that not everyone spend their money in the same way. Not everyone with money buys expensive cars for example, but nothing over the last few pages makes any sense.

In my limited experience though most with serious money don't tend to shout about it (especially on a PC forum), it's the ones that normally do shout loudest that generally have nothing.

There's two retailers near me that I can pick up a 3050 for £300 or I see them for purchase online around £320+

The 6500XT has played a part in pushing all 4GB cards down in price in the under £200 range.

lol at this thread...

This though I must say the flexing in this thread is pathetic.

Inflation isn't a tax. Some inflation is a good thing, because it encourages people to spend, rather than just invest or save their money, which tends to benefit individuals and not wider society.

Why the ranting about inflation, what does that achieve? Currencies don't have a fixed value, a currency's value comes from the products /services it allows you to buy, and how useful they are. Printing money can cause inflation, but quantitive easing is something different. The money from QE does not enter circulation, so the theory is that the effect on inflation is limited.

Nor is inflation theft. It's an unavoidable part of our economic system.

when I watch the weather they tell me that temperatures are different all across the country, I wish temperatures were more like inflation. It's a lot easier to understand only being one number

So you did work hard for the full price 6700XT then :p

Early on yes a lot of hard work, day trading, almost like a full time job, but moved on to actually buying and holding hard assets as a long term bet on inflation.
The early work built good foundations. Say buy some pieces of land, a few weeks beforehand deciding if its the right time to buy, not really hard work just a bit of mental work like a chess game, then once the assets are bought expect to sit back for the next 5 or 7 years while the profit builds up, don't sell unless you actually need spending cash. Buy and hold.

Waiting for RT, but I want my money spent well dammit!

Directx 12 only has limited RT because the GPUs can't handle soft reflections etc yet, I turn it off as its not much different to raster render.
I only play a few selected games through the year inc CSGO, I want to see DX13 deliver better 3dsmax type RT and Nvidia/Amd to have the cards so I can
actually Program the RT on the GPU Not just game.

Don't worry I am spending wisely saving your money for important items only. :)

And here's me thinking tripe was only fed to the dog's!

Nothing magic or unbelievable about what I do.
I read a news article years ago about someone in Argentina buying quite a lot of farm land, their currency was collapsing and the farm land prices
jumped. When he sold off the land it made him a multi millionaire, wasn't a pro trader like but got in and out at the right times.

Then how are you sitting for 5 or 7 years not touching it, was the hard work eating beans on toast every day?

I was very young then I dropped out of uni. Father was quite disappointed as mostly everyone in our family/relatives have a LOT of letters after their name,
and are well paid but I wouldn't even have a BSc!
Stayed with parents, so no bills to pay and started my trading career. Fast forward some years and suddenly I had made more than everybody with profits
still going up and up, parents/relatives were suddenly all proud of me! Nowadays if family want anything I buy it for them without a second thought because I can afford it. :)

NO beans on toast, my parents were well off.

Well so many people are complaining about high GPU prices and the current state of the GPU market.
Being a pro trader I am attempting to answer this question by saying that after about 50 years of stable currency you now have a currency collapse on
your hands.

Got nothing against Courtney, just an example who gave an interview to ABC news. Pleb means not wealthy working class person.
