Why is Bradford so hated?

Problem is the scumbags visit the countryside to rob stuff now too. Knowing the police will never show up. If you live near one of the notorious towns/cities they venture out to surrounding villages sometimes.

What that countries are better when people feel part of a larger community? How would one evidence that? I could cite Japan but you would call it anecdotal

The country with a ridiculous gdp to debt ratio and a declining population which is going to cause them all manner of issues?

Are they doing better than the US and the UK?

I take it you don’t have any actual evidence rather than just a ‘they look OK’ thought? Evidence as in any studies that show countries are better off without immigration?

I wonder how people are going to react when sea levels rise and there are 100s of millions of immigrants :o

Growing your population to inflate away your debt isn't a sustainable solution to any economic problem either.

It's not even a desirable "solution". Whether those people are immigrants or born here. Overcrowded is overcrowded. More crowded is more crowded. More population pressure (on the land, the wildlife, the infrastructure) is more population pressure.

A declining population would be a great thing were it not for our completely broken/unsustainable economic position, which requires ever more people to fund the pensions of the retiring generations (etc, etc).

Japan has very low crime rates, you can leave your phone on a table by all accounts and no one is going to touch it. You seriously don't think that there's any benefit to a more cohesive integrated society?

I watched a yt video on how gross Paris is these days.

Apparently Japanese tourists are so disenfranchised when they get there that they form clean up gangs and start sweeping the streets...

These are the kind of people you *want* to come to your country. Not Algerians selling tat under the eifel tower, or immigrants turning Bradford into Karachi.

Were they?
Most people I encountered couldn't wait for it all to be over and done with.

I think that's more of a residual effect from the class system than anything else. People of all colours and cultures are treated equally in respect of those aspects, but you're still ranked according to your social standing.

Couldn’t wait for the Olympics to be over?
The thought of all the manufactured traffic, my indifference to all and any sport, and the projected loss of earnings throughout the whole 16 days, prompted me to leave the country.

I have a perception of unknown origin that it's full of young Asian men with lots of money, no respect for the law and generally terrible attitudes. Whether that's true or not I really don't know as I've only ever driven straight past it.

you guys probably just paranoid :p

there's very few areas that are anything like that.
if you grew up in a city then you heard all the stories of how rough parts are as you grow up.
if you move to a city and someone says oh that's a rough area your like... really? doesn't seem like it at all.

I live in one of the worst areas of Newcastle apparently, gladly go for walks at midnight and earlier in the morning, never had any trouble.

a few teengers have been stabbed and died over the years but it's not random acts it's groups of kids fighting each other.

BTW if an areas really bad the council does this to every short cut/back path

Where my parents live is like a prison estate pretty much surrounded by a big green fence and everyone is forced to walk down the main streets because all the alley ways and short cuts got fenced off.

The worst place I've ever seen for this is Hartlepool, near enough every backstreet and alley fenced off in multiple areas of the town.

That's pretty bad to be fair, if you need to restrict access to any slightly secluded spot because of crime. Sounds like a strange environment to live in, and not something I've ever personally seen.

My last house in Heckmondwike was Afew hundred feet away from Dewsbury Moor, basically at that time a holding pen for the Jeremy Kyle show, think Shannon Mathew's (she lived on the first estate from our house) scummy chavs, mum's breeding for benefits
Interestingly we paid less for a place here than the going rate for a semi in that dump.
Edit /think Karen Matthews more appropriate

I think it comes from witnessing it. I know I have. The whole "rude boy" culture still seems to be strong with them.

Many of them aren't really *****, they just act like ***** infront of their mates.

About ten years ago I was called to a mutual aid job by West Yorks police to help police an EDL march in a PSU capacity. EDL in a city of a large Asian community and the UAF left wing counter group also decided to drop in so it was a real tinderbox but thankfully a heavy presence largely stopped it going upper lady parts up.

I was in full riot gear bar the helmet and me and a colleague got talking to two Asian lads and the conversation was about anything other than the ills of the world and was about football, my rollercoaster following if the Toon, cricket, Japanese import cars - I had an MR2 Turbo at the time - and the craic was really good with no barriers. Funnily enough, the press weren't interested !

Two from the UAF then walked in between us and the two Asian lads and told them not to speak to the police or they could be arrested and handed them cards with their rights on. I tried to explain that talking about football and good banter wasn't illegal so what would they be arrested for ? It fell on deaf ears and they scuttled off and shouted fascists from 100 yards before the two lads threw the cards in a bin and we shook and went our separate ways.

Funny old world.

Bradford isn’t a bad place after all.
Cool story bro.

Maybe they wanted you to turn a blind eye to the local sex scandal that seems to have happened in every single community of this type.

Cool maybe but true definitely.

Sorry if I disappoint but the remit for the day was to stop the EDL and UAF getting to each others throats and for Bradford city centre to tick over as normal. Job done.

I didn’t doubt you was telling the truth.
I live close to Glodwick, seen it all first hand.

Used to goto Bradford for a good curry, my last visit to Bradford was to fit out a barbers shop just before I moved to the US, 11 years ago.
Haven't been back home, to Burnley in all that time but it would probably be depressing as hell. Dreary mill towns and all that.
