Why is Bradford so hated?

Let's not resort to changing the city name which could suggest you're implying something else...
Can't tell if you're down with the kids and you think I stan Bradford.

Put it this way, we have guys that have been deployed with the troops both in prior careers and we used to have MOD contracts and have been in to enemy territory and they call it Bradistan :D

Some of my best nights out has been in Bradford when I was younger and you can get some of the best curries in the UK there for little money.

I've never been to Bradford, but I did used to live near Blackburn, which is a city that had seen enormous job losses over the last century and vast influxes of immigrants (not sure why as the employment opportunities are poor - cheap housing perhaps?).
The result is large areas of no whites at all and then low class whites who can't be arsed to work or work in lowly paid jobs. A very segregated city that is largely a dump.

Those comments are relevant for many of the Towns and Cities up here, especially the Mill towns.

That's great, we don't need to resort to those levels on here please.

You guys must all be living in the boonies :p
Surrey commuter belt for me. My area is incredibly non-diverse! I once sent a photo of a local pub to a mate and he couldn't believe there wasn't one non-white face (apart from my kids) in the picture. It's improved a little over the last few years though.

Can you actually describe Bradford, Luton etc as multicultural? I always thought they were better categorised as collections of monocultural ghettos. Comparing them to true multicultural areas / cities like London is a bit of a joke :p

Ignoring Bradford for a moment.
Can anyone think of a UK city or town where multiculturalism has actually worked?

Indeed, and that really is the problem with multiculturalism in this country. There is no integration.

On my daily dog walks at the park (Essex) I regularly talk to:

Muslim lady from Manchester who has a dog called Gizmo - She's a locum doctor.
Lady who was born in India but grew up in Saudi Arabia who has a dog called Olive - She's a primary school teacher
A lady from Texas who has an Australian Shepherd - Can't remember that dogs name.
A Hungarian couple who have 2 Vizslas.

I don't know where you think multiculturalism is failing - Maybe go and talk to people?

The problem are ghettos.
Already said that, and who gives a fig what her dogs called?

Yeah, when people mention Bradford, Blackburn comes to mind for me. Pretty much the same issues although Blackburn isn't quite a city yet. (Grown up in the Ribble Valley and spent a lot of time in Blackburn, Burnley etc). Blackburn and Bradford etc are seeing investment though and things are improving to some extent.

It's the smaller towns like Nelson that get left behind though. People take issue with these new communities buying old buildings and using them for their cultural purposes however on the flip side, without that those buildings would be derelict and disused because previous communities abandonned them and sought wealth elsewhere. It just doesn't fit as "British" to the armchair critics despite it meaning the area is invested in.

All walks of life, race and culture attract a lower class of citizen and I guess that's the issue as that's what stands out with some places but I don't see that as an integration issue, just ignorance from all sides.
