Why can people not fill up their cars without getting diesel allover the place?

Every single time without fail no matter what fuel station i go to theres always fuel allover the pump nozzle/handle :(

I don't have this problem when filling up with petrol, only diesel.

It's a right pain in the arse if i'm going out or to work as it takes ages to get the smell off your hands.

I bought some of those disposable gloves for filling car with fuel... Pack of 100 for £3.99 stops the smell of fuel on hands...

I get diesel all over the side of my car when i fill up, its a right pain in the arse but i've learnt to leave the pump in the hole for a little bit longer to get those last drips out.

As diesel has a different moluculer structure to petrol. Which makes it very messy and it coats everything. This is why you don't get it with petrol. It's also why gloves are provided.

ive only ever filled up a petrol, whats the difference when filling up, does it come out differently or something? (apart from it been diesel obviously)
