Why is filling up with diesel so messy??

*snigger*

Hehehe, this thread really does spur childish sniggering. :D

Yeah. I prefer the smell of diesel too, but not because I'm a farmer, because I'm not one, just prefer the smell over petrol is all...but don't like it on my hands, doesn't leave. :p

that and a spark won't ignite diesel.

I've seen a truck ignite due to some minor electrical spark whilst at an HGV "Bunkering" fuel site, scared the crap out of me!

POutting 350+ Litres in a truck every day is a real royal pain in the rear, not only do you have to put up with slimey Diesel all over the pump handle, you also have trailer grease everywhere!

I look like I've been down t' Pit after juicing my truck up :(

its because diesel is sticky unlike petrol, and it doesnt evaporate anywhere near as fast. petrol evaporates almost straight away so you dont get any left behind

i saw a guy filling up a fiesta diesel today. the reason i noticed him was that he was wearing gloves and holding the nozzle with tissues too lol

he then had to get more tissue to clean up the diesel spilt down the side of the car and on the floor.

i think that proves that diesel drivers are moronic. he knew it was messy but still pulled out the nozzle with diesel running out of it
