Why is homeopathy so popular?

I've had many a bruise from sports inc bad sprained ankles. Arnica cream has always worked a treat for me and definitely helps speed up the healing process.

In all seriousness, the reason is people say "What's the harm".

If anyone does say that to you, direct them here.

At risk of sounding like I believe in it (which I don't), none of the "harm" in those articles is actually caused by homeopathy. It's caused by the lack of conventional medicine.

That's akin to saying something like "Dave ate only rich tea biscuits but didn't drink any water, he died of dehydration, so rich tea biscuits must cause dehydration".

That's the harm in homeopathy, thinking it's a substitute for proper medicine.

Your quote would 'hold water' (sorry!) if Rich Tea biscuits made a claim or implied to be a substitute for water.

I quite like when I read about someone who got some homeopathic malaria medicine, then later died of malaria... I feel all warm and fuzzy in the knowledge that stupid people are offing themselves daily.

That was terrible! :p

The point still remains that homeopathy in itself doesn't actually cause harm - as per usual, stupidity causes harm.

Darwin would be pleased! :D

I still don't agree. If you have two bottles of pills, both claim to be antibiotics, yet one of them is just sugar pills, then those could kill. Err.. I'll try and put it differently. You go on holiday and ask me to feed your cat. I tell you I will do it, I don't do it, and then the cat dies.
