I set it to the max number of posts per page so I have a use for my ipads scrolling feature. Then when I'm erect I can slap my wang on my ipad and scroll sensually.

Use whichever option you like best.

5, 10, 20, 30 (default), 40, 60 or 80 posts per page.

I'm quite happy with the default setting.

It makes long conversation skimming easier, surely this would be blindingly obvious!

You read a thread and are about to type out a reply but can't remember what one person said mid typing so you scroll up further because it was more than say 30 posts ago...With most browsers that have "find as you type" feature you can type a username and it takes you there right away and then you can see the context you're looking for.

Or you could use the multi-quote button I don't know LEAVE ME ALONE
