Why is there nothing like quake or timesplitters around anymore?

Always see people saying "I miss Quake 3" "Why aren't there any fast paced games like Quake anymore?"

Why don't you play Quake Live then?

It's not perfect but it's still the best out there, its main problem is the low number of players and lack of support. Which is ironic since some people want fast paced games, yet they don't play it.

This, shame there aren't more QL players, in the UK anyway. Those that do play tend to be above average skill, which perpetuates the cycle. noobs get a baptism of fire

Nar, was an excellent game till Elvis came into it (N64 version anyway - Xbox one was poor)

I'm pretty certain you're not thinking of Perfect Dark Zero - the game released on Xbox 360. It was irrepressibly drab and awful.

What I would give for a remake of Unreal Tournament. Just a graphics and physics update. The game was near perfect for multiplayer madness.

This, this and this some more. I've still yet to play a game that comes anywhere near.

5v5 iCTF took up so many hours of my younger days and my old clan spent quite a bit of time at the top of the Clanbase league.

But alas massive maps with 60+ players seems to be where its at these days and to me it just doesn't feel as personal or intimate anymore.

Tribes: Ascend.

It feels like Quake/UT. It runs extremely well, it will be FREE.. the game will reply on micro-transactions for income.

Very much recommend it.

Warsow and/or Quake Live for any Quake 3-type fix.

Don't really know what you mean by "like Timesplitters" though, other than a bit wacky?

Nope, the N64 one like I said. 360 one was bad but N64 one was very very good - well until Elvis.

Yeah I know PD on the N64 was good, but that's not what I was talking about :p

I stated that PD-Z was rubbish, then you said "Nah, the one on the N64 was good!"

We're definitely in agreement, just don't see what there was to "nah" about :p

Timesplitters is probably my favourite game ever. Splitscreen with a few mates was great. Probably the first MP game I played.

Now it all unlocks and everything, I wish they would make a MP FPS like that again, was so much fun!

And you played different difficulties to unlock all the extra characters!

What a game :D

Like you would have splitscreen on a massive TV with a load of bots as well, levels were massive too.

Neither do I - guess even 11 is too late for me to think straight these days :(

Timesplitters 4 rumored to be launching along side new generation console. A lot of the newer games are very repetitive and power-up hungry. I play COD4 released 2007 and was the last one which was kept clean. But something like simple Q3 was awesome :(
