why most people choose Messi over C.Ronaldo?

I think Ronaldo should have won it for last season tbh.

They both excel in different areas. Barca's style of play means Messi's skills of dribbling and quick passing/bursting into the box to run onto a through ball and slot a goal in are utlisied to their utmost effectiveness. With Madrid, it's the lightning counters and Ronaldo's ability to score from pretty much anywhere in the final 1/3rd if he finds or can make the space. His shooting from distance is as ridiculous as Messi's 'ball is stuck to my feet', although both display awesome ball control in general.
 
I'm not sure if it was just me but in the Euros, Ronaldo was literally their only target man. Give it to Ronaldo and let him shoot. He missed quite a few that I expected him to easily put away and yet people still raved about him.

Messi is much more humble and willing to play as part of a team rather than the focus of it. If he is the focus then its because he knits the team together rather than because he is their target man.

I have seen some amazing things from Ronaldo but I have seen things from Messi that I didn't think possible. His ability under pressure, in the box with little space is god like. When you see what he does in slow motion he just makes the opposition look like lumbering oafs.
 
I choose between them because of perceived demeanour and conduct on/off the pitch.

Messi all the way.

Underperform in the sense that neither perform at the level they do for their clubs but both have scored roughly a goal every 2.5 games. Messi's does appear to score against significantly better International teams although it could be argued the standard's better in South America than it is in Europe.

Perception is everything.

I know nothing about either of their personal lives etc. but by looking at them, I would rather go for a pint with Messi than Ronaldo. Cant explain it.
 
some great points for both players here. i prefer messi but as many have mentioned ronaldo has excelled at two massive clubs in two different leagues and that counts for a lot.

And tbh i dont think we will as he only signed a contract extension till 2019 iirc. Plus hes gone on record to say that he will stay at Barca for probably the rest of his career. Guess hes re-paying the faith that Barca put in him when he was getting his treatment done.

Shame really as id love to see him excel either in the EPL, Serie A or the German league.

I suppose the only way we will see him play for another team is if he loses his magic and becomes useless for Barca or some team with lots of money comes in and triggers his release clause. I know back in xmas some russian team, think it was Anzhi that put a cheeky bid in ie triggered his insane release clause but Barca werent even going to consider it.

But between the 2, for me it will always be Messi. Ronaldo is good but i personally dont think hes that good. **** it id i had a dream wish come true, id love to see the pair of them at Arsenal:p.
