why most people don't finish video games

People use game length to determine whether a gaming experience is good value for money so games are full of padding.

The best games for me have been short ones without any padding, and I end up dropping those with a load of filler.

My favourite game of the current generation is by far Persona 5, a single player turn based JRPG.

My first play-through took me around 100-110 hours, and that's without even attempting to complete everything.

...Suffice it to say I enjoy a good long game, although I'm not overly keen on senseless fluff and padding, I wouldn't say the game suffered from that. The genre of the game and the studio behind it can have a huge impact on length and quality.

The time I have available to game tends to dictate what I play, If I know I'm going to be busy and time is limited I'll tend to go for something I can play in small chunks without much of a story to follow but if I've got a weekend with not a lot to do I'll go for something more story heavy or strategy based where more time is needed.

I tend not to finish games if I leave it too long between playing it and forget whats going on.....though that could be more to do with age!:D
