Why no pc version of call of duty 3?

With all due respect, next gen card? why does it not have a next gen card. Are you referring to the fact that its not DX10.

It certainly does have a next gen card with a next gen feel to the games. Isn't the R600 which is being release by ATI next year a redesign on the Xbox360 model?
The point is that 'next gen' is an overused and subjective term. Certainly for PCs there is no such thing as next gen, because PCs are constantly evolving.

shame consol controls in fps games suck so much, in the time it takes you to turn round I could have head shotted 6 people with a mouse and keyboard

Hmm, I thought people want more realism in games :p

realism???

Personally in RL it doesnt take me half an hour to turn around

and When I want to point "my gun" at something it doesnt move in tiny little jerky movements so that its impossible to quickly aim at whatever you are trying to

e.g.

ooo i see his head but my mouse is 1cm to the left of it....*player moves little joystick or d-pod*...now its jumped one cm to the right of his head...ok try really hard to move the stick only a really small ammount....nope, still jumps over to the other side of his head...screw this aiming malarky, il just strafe a little bit until my crosshair is on his head, s'not like I actually wanted to try and aim at him or anything

I would say your reply proves you aint ;)
Nice use of pre senior school English.
To me, some games feel better on a consol, others feel better on a PC. I suppose hardcore gamers would own several makes of system.
I personally enjoy Flight Sims and RTS, i doubt any current consoles would play these as well as my PC.

Heh - you're right, I don't like playing FPS games on a console for that reason. That and the framerate is usually lower than PC gamers would tolerate.

I cant really get used to pads for FPS either, but to claim shooting 6 people in the head in the time a pad takes to turn around is realistic is a joke.
I dont know what the answer is, but keyboard/mouse FPS over the last 12 years = boredom IMO, its sad no progress has been made with controller technology just because people prefer an unrealistic kill rate.

its more realistic than going "ooo up a bit...no down a bit...ahhhh left a bit....WHY WONT IT GO ON HIS HEAD?"

and im not saying a mouse and keyboard are ultimately realistic but then again most computers games no matter how hard they try are not realistic for one reason or another....but atleast a mouse and keyboard make it slightly less annoying to play them

tbh, everyone needs those guns that you could get with the megadrive
so you can realy shoot things, just point and squeese!

ATI stated the 360 gpu is the power of a x1800xt, the R600 aint based on the 360 as the 360 can't do dx10, from all i seen on cod3 after playing it they just put some grass in not really a big step in the cod series.

I hear they doing a modern day cod for pc etc, not sure how much of this is true.

A comparison I read of both consoles stated that the 360 GPU is a cut down prototype of the R600.

http://dpad.gotfrag.com/portal/story/35372/?cpage=1

'This GPU here inside the Xbox 360 is literally an early ATI R600...'

360 GPU is a work of art!! ;)

shame when it came out the gfx on quake 4 looked worse than on my single 7800gtx....(at the time)
and if its soooo next gen, why doesnt it have dx10 support? and why do they force all consol games to run at a horrible 25fps or whatever it is

speaking of rubbish gfx, you can tel CoD2 was a consol port coz in comparison to other games at the time ...FEAR.... its gfx suck

hence why they had to use cinematic videos for their adverts

I also dont understand the current trend of making games for consoles and then maybe porting them to the pc, i dont know the statistics but i would still think the majority of serious gamers would be pc gamers. Do the console versions of games greatly outsell their pc counterparts?

In the end its all about the money, games will be made for whatever format makes the company the most money.. sadly it seems that is consoles these days, and so games are made for the without being too harsh inferior controls of a console.... anyone that says otherwise is just lying to themselves, there is no way anyone with a control pad could stand against someone with a keyboard and mouse

Hopefully the wii will change this, i hear the controls for its version of cod3 is actually quite good

ps. i will despise consoles for ever more after what they have done to the rainbow series, damn console n00bs
