WHY would you do this??

a lot of things like that are because the owner need it and didn't wont to spen £2 on a scrap yard.

Things like windscreen wipers are another popular pinch, easy to remove.

Why not just spend the few £.

The offical Chav name for this is NCP spares.
What bothers me most is that if caught and beaten You get nicked, Now what's that all about then ?

If anyone knows of a scrappy breaking a silver E39 5 Series please let me know. It's my preffered option.

4 door Fox?, i'm off tomorrow for a Beemer petrol tank i think...if i spot one i'll grab it...
:)

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Fortunately the rover equivalent part was £5 second hand. But none the less it's so annoying. Mindless *******.

That's just what silly drunk people do on New Year. Most of the cars down the road where my car was parked were tampered with, in that their windscreen wipers were either raised or in some cases totally removed!!

I seemed to be lucky in that the car in front and behind me had been done but mine hadn't been touched. Whether it was my massive 'StopLock' thing on my steering wheel or that combined with my alarms bright LED that put them off who knows? It was more likely the case they were so drunk they just missed my car. Or it could be the fact I always fold my wing mirrors in (its a studenty type area) as its common for those to get done so I do it myself to prevent them getting damaged, so maybe they thought someone had already done something to my car.

Thing is even when I'm drunk I have never had the urge to damage other peoples propertie or tamper with it to the extent that it could cause extensive damage. If someone didnt realise their rubbers on their wipers were missing and used the wiper it could really scratch the screen

Unlucky fox,

Well around this time of year where a lot of alcohol is consumed and people generally feeling invincible because it's christmas you get a lot of petty vandalism & plain stupidity. I keep my car well onto the driveway and take the bus into the town centre whenever possible. Extreme actions some might say but I've only had my car a few months and I don't want 'stupid moo door dings' or 'elderly driver scuff' or 'jelous chav keying car'. I may get a banger to substitute for the bus at some point which can live parked on the street.

Thing is why would anyone remove it, its one of those you need to know how to and the fact it will pull off items.

No damage to the car i trust?

Deffo a fellow bmw owner or some stolen to order part.

Sorry to be reading this Fox.

******* SCUM BAGS!

Perhaps you should ring the bodyshop to double check it's not there, or perhaps they didn't clip it back on properly?

never know could just be shoddy engineering combined with your yobbish driving, might have blown off while you were drifting round a roundabout

Perhaps you could take the opportunity to fit a roof rack :P

There are some absolute morons about, something similar to this happened to my mates old E36 BMW, they ripped the side mouldings off.

I mean, why the hell would you want to do it anyway?

Sorry to hear it though Fox, I despair at the way things are in this country sometimes :(

Vandalism hurts :(

Guy at work today showed me his Mondeo. It was vandalised on New Years eve. EVERY window was smashed in and the roof is a dip where it's been jumped on. Utter mess, and for what reason? None.

It's not just this country though is it? I'd rather run the chance of a bit of trim going missing that be carjacked at gunpoint like in South Africa. A little perspective here please.

I was expecting to see that someone had keyed you a go faster stripe when I saw the thread title.

Glad its not as bad as I was expecting but still a blow.

Hopefully the guy that cloud put you onto can sort you out for a good price.

Bad luck Fox, sorry to hear it.

This kind of thing makes my blood boil.

Its not just the expense and hassle replacing it, its the fact that someone has had the audacity to muck around with your car and rip something off it.

Sadly its a common thing within society today.

Hangings too good for 'em I say !!!!. :)
